2. As for Newtie's previous divorces
The Church doesn't recognize them as legitimate in the eyes of gawd, so no harm, no foul. Those marriages? Never happened! No need for even the ecclesiastical sleight-of-hand known as annulment.

4. Apparently,
the vast majority of young Notre Dame students are fine with Obama coming....it's the alumni who aren't too pleased.

5. Stand up gainst this hypocrisy. Sign this petition
http://www.wesupportnotredame.org/

The Petition

As an American proud of our nation's tradition of civil dialogue and religious pluralism, I stand with Notre Dame President Fr. John Jenkins and his decision to invite President Barack Obama to speak at the 2009 graduation commencement.

For decades, presidents of both political parties have been invited to Notre Dame for this occasion to engage in rigorous discourse about the most pressing issues of our day. Presidents have addressed such essential issues as international affairs, peace building, poverty, and human rights. Through this invitation, Fr. Jenkins is honoring the best of our nation's democratic and religious values.

While some partisan groups driven by narrow ideological agendas are attempting to smear the Notre Dame community for extending this invitation, I agree with Fr. Jenkins' statement that Notre Dame is justly honoring our nation's first African American president - an "inspiring leader who faces many challenges."

9. Gingrich has always been
fascinated by the 'Reagan Democrats', as he calls them. Reagan Democrats are comprised mostly of Catholic moderate Democrats. Obviously this is why he has joined the Catholic Church. This looks like a 2012 strategy to me.

10. Re: Obama at ND
Edited on Sun Mar-29-09 09:48 AM by bettybarb1
My nephew is graduating from ND this year. Talking to his dad, my brother, it is people not affiliated with the school that are making the biggest stink about Obama speaking there. My brother is concern that a joyful occasion will turn into a circus because of the protesters that might come out.

11. A moral lecture from Newt Gingrich
is like getting marriage advice from a priest who's never been married. He's a fraud who appeals to those lacking critical thinking skills. Maybe he's hoping to get buggered by a church elder for keeping the colored guy from speaking at Notre Dame. He's almost as dumb as Bill Kristol.

Boy...you said it! Did you ever read "To Renew America"? What boring scifi! And nuts....completely nuts. I only enjoyed the part where he laments that liberalism will hand our children and grandchildren huge debt and how immoral that is. Hypocrisy and hubris... of Euripidean proportions.

He mentions in his video that he will be giving a speech a bit earlier than President Obama's official commencement speech.

I think he meant at an earlier date. Granted, I'm not 100% sure on that but that's my best guess.
