PBS should put "People's Sheriff" in quotations or at least a question mark, people's? sheriff.
Like any other, he is an elected sheriff. Like few sheriffs, he is a senior citizen.

3. This joker is an arrogant jerk!

Talk tough and carry a big stick my ass! He's a political hack that goes on Fox Noise to spew his venom. You have plenty of boarder patrolman and Sheriff that control the boarders without in fanfare. But this jerk looks for publicity. Writing books and being paid by Fox Noise is all this too-bit Barney Fife wannabee cares about. Go back to your hole you filthy rat!

4. Take this guy to task on his treatment of those in his care,

but I didn't see anything arrogant about his interpretation of illegal alien. The interviewer - name-dropping a nobel prize winner's slant (one achieved thru the trauma he lived thru) on how to title such folks - doesn't want to play by the rules. You can't simply call someone "undocumented" and have that whisk away the fact that they've broken the law the very moment their big toe crossed the US border. He rightly calls her out on her game of semantics. I'd like to see her justification for re-titling the law breakers, stand up in a court of law.
This guy was legally elected to the position he fills. To say he's seeking to feed hhis ego is dumb. Heh - if he was REFUSING to yield to interviews, the people would be carping about that too. Sheesh!

When you enter this country without documentation and without the threat of persecution in your native country - you are a law-breaker. Expect to be treated like one. Treated like one in the manner of which the majority of local folks have chosen. End of argument.

5. He is not my sheriff

and I don't like his racist attitude.
As a Native American Indian, I don't think he is any more "legal" than the people he is trying to persecute, which, having some Native American Blood already, are more "legal" than he is if you want to split hairs.
I also believe anyone born on the planet is "legal" and that the people of the earth should be free to move and live wherever, as long as they obey the laws and pay a (VERY low) tax to take care of running the planet.
