2. Surprising that MSNBC is running this story
As CNBC is Wall Street's network cheerleader.

21. I'm hoping that in part it has to do with viewers tuning out ---
the more of us who tune out the more they are forced to either get off

the air or to provide programming which advertisers will pay for -- i.e.,

programming which people tune in for!

Haven't seen recent figures, but there was a tremendous slide in viewers

across the board as more of the networks became heavily corporately controlled.

Including TNT which went from 13 million viewers internationally with Ted Turner

to 3 million!!!

5. This is the article referred to in the video
http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200905/imf-advice

In my opinion the best article written on the financial fiasco. I only wish Johnson would show up on a less partisan platform, like AC 360, Meet the Press, or ABC's Sunday morning show. Saying these things on a left-leaning show doesn't have the same effect.

9. I have a feeling that Meet the Press and the other news shows
won't have him on just because he'll say those things.

25. Great article, thanks for the link ~
'A Quiet Coup' ~ he makes it so clear that this is what has happened, there has been a coup d'etat which has taken place over several decades by financiers and now they are desperately struggling to stay in power and we the people are being forced to keep them there when what ought to be happening, is investigations and prosecutions.

The government and Wall St. are so closely linked, as the article makes clear, that it explains why no one in power seems interested in going after those who caused this colossal failure. The goal is to try to save a system that so benefited all of them and they cannot condemn the corruption as most of them were a part of it.

Reading that article explains the mystery of why Obama surrounded himself with people who were a part of the problem, like Geithner and Summers and why 'we the people' are completely ignored, even when the people finally woke up and demanded that Congress refuse to go along with Paulson's bail-out demands. And now we are told that members of Congress who DID listen to the people at that time, were threatened with martial law if they did not cooperate.

What's really tragic if the article is even close to being correct, is that the US got into a situation that in the past was more likely to happen to under-developed countries, or countries coming out of years of oppression.

I don't know what to think anymore, but the more I learn, the less puzzled I am by the actions of Democrats who were supposed to be on our side. How do we take this country back from these people, that is the question.

7. I'd argue the coup de gras was the creation of the Federal Reserve.
They've owned the government ever since that sad day.

10. It is obvious. But we're not supposed to talk about it. Our own little
DU Taliban wants, no DEMANDS, that we all get in step and worship at the altar of Wall Street because 'they're too big to fail'.

11. The world has changed forever with this downturn
The only way to bring back the economy is to jettison modern economics. The senseless perspective that we could outsource jobs and become a wealthier nation is ludicrous. The banksters and business elite are behind this.
