In the economic crisis, public hospitals are needed now more than ever. If you're down on your luck without insurance, the county hospital can be your last resort.

Recently thousands of letters went out across Las Vegas telling cancer patients that the only public hospital in the state was closing its outpatient clinic for chemotherapy.

It's the next thing in the recession - communities cutting back on services like schools or cops or public hospitals because tax revenues have fallen with the economy.

One of the charity patients who got that letter in Las Vegas is Helen Sharp, who didn't realize how a crash on Wall Street might threaten her life...

So angry we have to go walk around the block at

3. Make that "republican boomers".
There are millions of us boomers out here that are just as pissed as you, and we've been pissed a whole fucking lot longer.

5. Billions for AIG, big banks and insurance companies,
but not a penny to save countless lives.

What the fuck have we become? Where is our humanity? Since when did a bank become more important than people?

Republican obstructionists to the health care plan should watch this 60 Minutes segment. I guess though, if it isn't you or one of your family members, it doesn't matter.

I mourn for our country. I mourn for our legislator's lack of human compassion.

6. I don't give a damn about your traditions, people......
It's now long past time for single payer health care. And I am a baby boomer, born at the end of the boom. I've been pissed about politics and the treatment of ordinary people for as long as I can remember.
