Richard Armitage, the former US Deputy Secretary of State, tells Avi Lewis on Al Jazeera's Fault Lines why he should have resigned from the Bush administration over its lack of respect for the Geneva conventions.

From Fault Lines, a new show on Al Jazeera English hosted by Avi Lewis and Josh Rushing.

The first episode examines the Obama administration's emerging policies on detention, rendition and torture.

Look for the full show in the next few days.

2. Armitage acts like a slimy, creepy crook in that video. I don't know much about him
except that he took the rap in the Plame outing for whatever reason, possibly to let his superiors off the hook and is here arguing in favor of letting crimes of the past go unpunished. Blaming Congress is a joke because the Bush administration broke the laws and refused to tell Congress what it was doing all too often. Besides, members of Congress should answer for their crimes just as other people do -- within the limits of the Congressional immunity granted by the Constitution.
