A reminder to the Republicans in Washington--they don't much like you either.

1. This neanderthal (R) congressman tries selling anachronistic snake oil with his RW talking points...
Edited on Sat Apr-18-09 03:40 PM by Postman
This guys performance is akin to a buggy whip salesman trying to convince Detroit to invest in buggy whips in the year 1946...

5. Yes...
but all of his talking points were RW garbage to which the crazies attending were applauding for..

The dumbest Americans on earth are middle class, blue collar republicans.

6. For the most part, I agree but

But I do not think name calling is in order. Nor do I think calling certain groups of Americans dumb is in order.

10. I am
hardly ms manners. but I am too the point where I think all the name calling --for the most part vile namecalling --just continues on the path of dumbing down America. I am tired of it. It distracts and there is no good discussion.

4. see post
number 3. It explains the boos (somewhat). Read some of the accounts of who attended. (you will not get the truth from the posts on DU or from cable-msnbc or cnn)

17. Because the teabaggers are so starved for hate, that they will consume their own.
It sort of like self cannibalism or when someone starts drinking their own urine due to a lack of water.

12. What was this guy thinking?
The tea partiers demand ultra-pure no tax, no spending pols. Anyone who supported a bailout should know better than to waste his time.

13. That's the funny part
This guy is a hardline R from one of the most solidly R districts in the nation.

He voted for TARP after promising he would not.

is screwing Jim Bunning in Kentucky, because he refused to vote for TARP.

18. Why does this sound so much like the Firesign Theater....
... when the principal was addressing the assembled students of More Science High School? (Not to be confused with Commie Martyr High).

20. Ugly and dangerous
It would be a mistake to simply dismiss these people because there are those among them who are armed, trained, capable and obsessively determined to save their country from the filthy libral scum and their godless, gunless communist agenda. We may be witnessing a calculated attempt to incite an assassination. If you can't win an election, or steal it, or get the Supreme Court to appoint your idiot, what other recourse do you have? It's very easy for me to envision Dick Cheney remarking casually to his fellow members of the old PNAC crowd that, "To kill a snake, you cut off its head."

21. karma

at least he could have stood up to them and said 'I believe what I did was right, I'd do it again, I think it will help and you can boo all you like, it is my job to do the unappealing, the unpopular and the things that other folks won't do when the rubber meets the road' - intead, he played 'friendly GOP boy' which is where he deserved the booing and back-turns.
