Aren't we far enough along that we no longer subject women to these pageants where the biggest buxon, smallest waist, brightest teeth and the lowest IQ are adored?

What is "opposite marriage"? This woman doesn't have a clue. First of all she couldn't even articulate an answer that clearly defined the two models as "opposite sex, i.e. heterosexual" and "same sex, i.e. homosexual". Secondly she says the country gets to choose. What does she mean by that? The states where same sex marriage is allowed did not get there by popular vote, it was either by court decision or in the case of Vermont, legislative action. The only "choosing" that happens is when bigots attempt to deny gays and lesbians the same rights they enjoy. There is no "choosing" for the GLBT community in this.

She says this is what she was taught. Isn't she now an adult? Shouldn't she be able to rationalize on her own? It is one thing to take what you were taught and synthesize it against what you yourself experience in the world but those that just blindly follow what their parents taught them leads to intolerance and stagnation. Muslim men are taught that women should be subservient to them and that the U.S. should be destroyed. So much for following what you are taught without any independent thought.

Aside from the bigotry in her remark, it's also painfully evident that she cannot express herself clearly in a public forum under pressure. In "her country" (does she know that California is not a country?) "Opposite marriage" (which one was that again?)What is she trying to say?

If the judges are looking for someone who can speak diplomatically--and in intelligible English--she isn't it.
