3. I want to know why this officer hasn't been arrested.
EL PASO -- Police Chief Greg Allen on Tuesday said an officer may have overreacted when arresting a Channel 7-KVIA reporter and photographer at the scene of a crash.
After watching a video of the incident, Allen said he believed Sgt. Raul Ramirez "somewhat overreacted" and did not confront all bystanders.

What the officer did wasn't overreaction, it was illegal. Had a citizen done that to a police officer, he would have been arrested.

5. Was there possibly something someone didn't want filmed for TV?
Why else go after only the press?

11. Granted there are cell phones that can capture the scene
but that could be dealt with if necessary with less immediacy than a TV crew.

6. Suspend the officer without pay
Let him learn his lesson via his pocketbook, and let it be a lesson for any other hotheaded officers. He's lucky there isn't a lawsuit pending.

9. People skills should be the most basic requirement for police work.
Everyone gets impatient & stressed at times, but that uniform seems to give some police officers the audacity to act out their frustrations.

Today as I was parking at a downtown garage I was a couple of cars behind an apparently off-duty police officer with an "NOPD" decal on the back of his pick-up truck. Being in the left lane entering the garage, he was in the position to yield to the traffic to the right. However, instead of slowing at the entry, he accelerated to try to be the first one in. The first car to the right proceeded ahead, but the NOPD truck was determined to be next & he nosed ahead of the car very carelessly, too close to the car to the right.

Then, on the third level, he spotted a parking space but wasn't in a position to get into it, considering the cars in back of him couldn't back up, so he accelerated so quickly his tires were screeching.

It's all about power over ordinary citizens & lack of patience.

12. They should have gotten into the truck, and then break the key off in the ignition
Then they could loiter there forever until the service truck arrrived.

Definately more going on than meets the eye for that Cop to jump the fence, which pissed him off to no end I'm sure, but it was the cops decision to go ballistic and crack a few heads.
