It's interesting that he doesn't buy into it as Pres. Obama does.

1. I don't know if Obama buys into it - as I recall he minced his words...
...very carefully while campaigning, suggesting that it's possible for us to come up with a cleaner coal process without saying that we're anywhere near it.

4. Yeah, but he only uses it when he thinks there's no time/way to explain sufficiently...
...to convince certain groups of voters ~ he did that coal bit when it looked like voters in coal states were suspicious of him.

As a lifelong environmentalist, I was okay with it because the changes we so desperately need depended on his winning.

5. Al Gore lays down the truth in an easy to under stand fashion
Clean coal is just another term for a major source of Carbon Pollution. The way to deal with the global warming climate crisis is not to try and clean dirty fossil fuels, but to reduce the amount of CO2 being released into the atmosphere.

President Obama has draft legislation for Carbon Cap and Trade programs. The climate crisis can't wait for the 'clean coal' that will never arrive, the economy can't wait either. Now is the time to push through the Cap and Trade bill, and let the Republicans scream. They don't have the votes right now to stop it.

In order to end our dependence on the fossil fuels that produce the CO2 that is warming our planet, we need to make a transition to clean, renewable energy. Until the new energy sources are fully developed, capping carbon pollution will put America on a path toward economic recovery, and make good-paying American jobs that can’t be shipped overseas.

6. Too bad Obama was so enthusiastic about it without proper caveat. Now his words are being exploited
by the coal industry.

THAT SOCKS.
