1. he is harsh, but not completely wrong

the problem is that the American unions have bought the mythology of the American dream. But I wouldn't be too sure about crybabies. The day millions of American workers will found themselves unemployed, with minimal incomes, without decent health insurance and minimal pension, nobody knows what it is going to happen. Historical precedents (great depression etc..) shows that very little happened, but it's mostly thanks to Roosevelt. The question is if Obama can live up to that standard. This is a potential powderkeg, and you never know what can ignite it and what results can be out of the explosion. There is a big risk that such movements develop into reactionary populism, since the social-democratic ideals of European workers practically don't exist in the US.

4. auto workers
The big wig political genuflection to-wards investment bankers and money handlers, when compared to how they feel about American workers, is absolutely appalling and revealing.

Our politicians are serving a small community of the highly monied elite at the expense of average working Americans everywhere. Indeed, at the expense of the standard of living of the entire middle class.

Max is harsh, but, the realities of this are harsh and should be understood fully by all working Americans. If our democracy is built on "We the People", then how come "We the People" are not getting even close to a fair shake?

5. Pollyannas
I go to work and say "We're all getting screwed." And my mates, nicest guys in the world, all have to say, "But this is the greatest country in the world".
Holy mac and cheese, put down the flag and defend yourself and your family.

6. I would call this a must see.
The sad truth is that the right wing has successfully branded unions as left wing, and left wing = bad in the minds of Joe Sixpack. (This has been another successful long-term effort by the right wing; getting the working class to believe against their own interests) And why not? Conservative mouthpieces are forever railing about unions and communism. Whenever unions come up in the (allegedly left-leaning) entertainment media they are always portrayed as being an appendage of organized crime. And all the while the right wing keeps the working class believing that if they work hard, they will one day join the upper class in the crystal palace on the hill.

Long live the American Dream. (And a dream it is for an increasing number of us)

More snake oil please.

10. It's rough, but sometimes people need a figurative slap in the face.
But how can American workers take that message to heart, when most of them feel lucky to have a job at all?

The USA has become the land of lowered expectations.

11. Max speaking honestly in a dishonest and polite world.
You may be the one person who can help guide this group to a better place. KIA has a billion dollar factory that is being built here. Not only are we being destroyed, but we're already being replaced. And no one here seems to be getting the bigger picture. You are painting a bigger picture, and we should thank you.
