The more the Right Wing talks, the more they push their party deeper and deeper into the quicksand - I hope all the Mexican-American members of this country hear exactly how the GOP folks think about them - the more they hear the better. 'Truth' - the most dangerous thing to the Republican Party.

1. I can not believe how evil and hateful these people are.

I have to make a confession. I am a recovering conservative. I considered myself conservative because of some infertility problems I was against abortion but it was more than that. I was truly ignorant about what conservatism really was. I didn't listen to talk radio. (Well, just sports radio) I rarely listened to the news. Bush changed all that for me and I grew and have changed. I have always hated racism and have always been for the right of marriage for EVERYONE but that abortion issue was a huge issue. These people are pure evil and I am thankful that I have learned and grown before I turned into one of these evil creatures.

Prior to 1964, conservatism, strictly speaking, was a common-sense ideology: smaller government, no extravagant spending, no nation building, etc. What passes for "conservatism" today is **not** the politics of fine public servants like Everett Dirksen or Barry Goldwater, but rather radical right-wing nationalism (as opposed to patriotism, which is for all Americans), and a 100% emphasis on the privatization of everything: schools, medical care, even war (all the private military units and contractors in Iraq).
Dwight Eisenhower made a superb and chilling address on the dangers of the military-industrial complex, and how its rise would mean the end of America as we know it.

Last year, Barry Goldwater's granddaughter did a documentary on her grandfather -- and the conclusion was drawn that today, Barry Goldwater would be considered a liberal!
