Great stuff - Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, U.S. Army (ret.) speaks his mind on several lies he personally is aware of including aluminum tubes, yellowcake... etc and goes to the heart of the matter that if the Secretary of State was lied to, why would we not think it would happen to Pelosi.

1. That was a devastating complete repudiation of the entire current news story by him

I was about to post that this was the second video I had seen of the ex-Fox News um lady in which she did some actual reporting but she returned to her old ways and just did the "but ***** says....."

Wilkerson hit it out of the park.

3. Powell also ignored his own staff (State Dept's INR) who said those claims were BS.

Did Wilkerson forget to mention that? State Dept's own analysts had refuted those claims of WMD "evidence" coming out of WH/Pentagon/CIA's WINPAC. And yet Powell went ahead with many of those claims.

While Wilkerson has a deserved axe to grind with Cheney and the warmongers, he's also a defender of Powell who had good reason to know that the Bush Admin's Iraq WMD's claims were trumped up.

4. All current republican talking points are indefensible.

If they didn't have the media pumping them up, the republicans would be national laughingstocks. In some circles, they already are.

5. Right. They would have no credibility

at all if the media was not complicit in supporting the official lie. In light of the torture and abuses the very notion that the media is focused on Pelosi is amazing. Gingrich is calling for Pelosi to resign, saying she isn't fit to be speaker of the house? What planet are we living on? And he is dominating the discussion on TV.

Now the Reich Wing will attack Colonel Wilkerson saying he is sour grapes or he has no credibility. They are as predictable as the sun rise. I can hear Wolf Blitzer now "But many in the Republican Party say that Colonel Wilkerson has no credibility"

7. Finally a truthteller.

Bless Col. Wilkerson. To date, he's one of few sources with the cojones to put this whole Pelosi non-issue in perspective. He was at those let's concoct a war meetings! Of course the CIA lies. That's what they do for a living. And of course most of Congress are spineless corrupt lifers doing their corporate bosses' bidding.

8. If the republicans ever put men like Powell and Wilkerson in leadership positions.

First the feckless Republicans are in trouble and then we're in trouble. The Republican will regain credibility and legitimacy as they clean their own house. Unless we beat them to it with prosecutions. Then there is little or no way out this mess they have created for themselves. But Powell and Wilkerson have been steadily proving their moral fiber. Maybe we can win them over like Specter?
