Oh, I can just picture Rush Limbaugh doing his bouncy dance hearing this rhetoric coming from within his party. Tom Ridge explains that commentators are not helping Republicans make their case to the American people and are hurting, not helping.

9. Powell and Ridge in one day!

We are on the verge of total vindication of all those who took the side that said the party should go after Limbaugh aggressively. (Others said it was best to ignore Limbaugh)

We've tied to the GOP to Limbaugh and they are losing members because of it. We've elevated Limbaugh's profile so more see what the GOP is made of. Best of all, we've started fight within the GOP which is bound to do them some serious damage.

Limbaugh will never back down or shut up so this could go all the way. If enough of the party leadership throws Limbaugh overboard he'll respond by telling his 20 million dittohead zombies not to support the GOP anymore. That would be lethal to the GOP as it exists now. They'd have to reorganize into a more reasonable entity. All because of a few well placed punches that some said would be counterproductive.

12. Simple truth. Limbaugh needs the GOP as much as it needs him

He has built his entire base by attacking Democrats, and the only people who get a thrill out of that incessant jabbering are the hard core Republicans.

If he were to tell his peeps to no longer be Republicans, that would take all the power out of his attacks on Democrats.

But you may be right. He may do that. I'm hoping his ego is big enough to think he can form a third party. I'd love to see a few million people follow Limbaugh to officially become skinheads.

I'd also like to see the GOP become more moderate. That would then e a great place to send the DINOs that are holding us back.
