In spite of the rhetoric coming from the GOP, projects being funded by the stimulus package are already underway across the country. The only holdup at this point is coming from the state level, where governors are either using the money to fill in budget gaps, or they are being too indecisive about how to spend the money. Mike Papantonio of Air America's Ring of Fire takes on the Bulls and Bears on Fox News to set the record straight.

The reality is that the whole economic system for the last 30 years if not more depended on people believing that they had all this money.. which suddenly just vanished. only thing the stimilus will do is temporarily delay the inevitable...

3. It isn't succeeding or failing

The stimulus plan has been mainly funding public projects from going under, so in that regard it has been very helpful. But considering that only 10% or so of the funds have been used, it's impossible to say that it prevented another Depression.

4. The stimulus

isn't creating jobs. And all those lost jobs are not coming back until the wealth that was lost returns.

Too bad that stimulas money wasn't used for job creation (instead of voodoo economics trickle down job creation) or to encourage the creation and developpment of small business. That would have been far more effective with respect to job creation.

have we seen any video of bread lines in the country? The economy was at the cliff..it has gone over yet but we're still on the edge. Governors are using the stimulus to pay their budget deficits..how nice of them. Banks are holding their's or buying other banks..so what could have been better is now the same. I don't think they should do a second one however and Obama agreed.
