Chuck Todd: When you actually tell people what’s in the bill, they like it
By: Jason Rosenbaum Wednesday August 19, 2009 8:27 am

Yesterday, Chuck Todd on NBC defended his network's biased poll, which eliminated the notion of choice from their question about a public option and then acted like it was news when support dropped. Here's that mindblowing defense:

On Hardball earlier this evening, NBC's Chuck Todd claimed that they changed the wording because the word "choice" "biased" the question.

Todd didn't explain what is "biased" about describing a plan that offers people a choice between a public plan and private insurance as offering a choice between a public plan and private insurance.

Today, he's singing a different tune:

That's right, Chuck. When you actually tell people what's in the bill, they like it. When you give them right wing spin, they don't.

Which begs the question: Why would NBC and the Wall Street Journal poll Americans on what's not in the bill in the first place?

2. Obama has proposed a plan? What is ObamaCare you Bush* licking toad?
Chuck Todd, not the OP.

I want a detailed explanation.

How/why are they getting away with calling this "ObamaCare"?

3. I still don't like those percentages though.
53% for and 43% against, even after learning what the myths and truths are? :banghead:

4. Why don't they EVER show the actual polling questions???
Then the viewer/reader can judge if the questions are biased or not. Are they afraid that if they actually show the question that was asked that would be "too much information"??? If a poll is going to be cited, then the questions asked should be included in the results. I know, that would make it WAY to difficult to spin those results. I've taken enough polls to know that the way the question is asked makes all the difference in the world. I hate these stupid polls.

consiousness of the nation. It is so insane that any coporation is not coming out to put the insurance caompanies in check who are draining the economy. Once the health insurance comapnies have got their way they will make a price hike on all business to cover all their nonsense.

6. When you actually explain the bill, they like it. When you give right wing spin, they don't.
Go figure?

Which is why the media gerbils need to have a mea culpa and get back to being journalists instead of instigators.

They're doing this country a grave disservice by siding with the opponents of health care reform and keeping the status quo, which everyone agrees is not sustainable.

7. The Republicans just want President Obama to fail
They will oppose every piece of legislation we offer, no matter what it contains or support their constituents have for it.

We have the votes, let's just steamroller the pukes and get on with fixing this country
