Think about it. By necessity it has to be spontaneous and with little editing. You wind up saying what you REALLY think before you(or someone else) can correct yourself.
On the radio, No problemo. You say something over the top and utterly vile, then you lose a few stations. No biggie. You start up again in the SAME radio marken with another competing station after the heat dies down in a few months. That's how Michael Savage has survived in the SF bay area. He just keeps on popping up again!
Cable TV is definitely different. You lose one, you lose all. If Glen Beck ever said that Michael Moore thing on FOX, it would get edited out long before it goes on the air. You can just bet there is someone on who'e entire purpose is to do just that for Hannity, OReilly and Beck. They ALL originated their schtick on radio so they have to be watched like a hawk.
Ahh, to get unedited footage......... ;-)
