1. What jerks republicans are.
Truly beyond belief. A new level of hypocrisy and idiocy.

3. One Can Lie Oneself To Power -
.

Once in power, who cares how one got there? A bit cynical, but way too much truth in today's media driven world.

8. Conservative Hypocrisy,,,,,
,,,,knows no limits. They condemn Clinton, Edwards and others for their infidelities, yet they honor serial adulterers like Gingrich, Guiliani, McCain, Reagan and so many others.

Look up "hypocricy" in the dictionary. It says see conservative republican.

9. Hypocrisy knows no political boundries
Politics produces hypocrites. It is the name of the game on both sides. Why this is a surprise is what is surprising. It is what Pres Obama warned the Republicans about when they vilified him so. How can they now stand with him to support their very own views?

Democrats are just as guilty. In a 2005 energy bill vote in congress, Repubs did not have the needed votes after the five minute allotment. They held the vote open for 40 mins (to 'persuade' others for the needed votes). This act was declared as "corrupt" by the democrats. They specially used the word "corrupt" because, as House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D - MD)said, "It was the word that Vice President Cheney used when Jim Wright, on a Budget bill, on an economic policy for our country, held the vote open for 28 minutes." (IOW - it was what they-the democrats- were called when they did it).

Sen. Tom Daschle - "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter." It was only a few years later he found out how well the IRS enforces those laws.

Currently? DSCC Chairman Robert Menendez, Michigan's Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, Claire McCaskill of Missouri, freshmen Kay Hagan of North Carolina and Mark Begich of Alaska, and Bernie Sanders of Vermont just spent a "winter weekend" in Miami at a fund raising convention with top lobbying officials for many of the industries Democrats regularly attack: Represented were the American Bankers Association, the tobacco company Altria, the oil company Marathon, several drug manufacturers, the defense contractor Lockheed, and most of the large independent lobbying firms.

Hypocrisy, they name is special interests.

10. Bravo, Rachel! Hypocrisy needs to be in the headlines.
I've always felt that Republican politicians wouldn't know whether to support a policy position or not... unless and until they were told whether the policy had been proposed by a Democrat or a Republican. Same with knowing whether to defend an adulturer or not, even with all the sordid details; they'd have to know if the person was Democrat or Republican. But I hadn't thought about the implication of such flip-flopping until Rachel put it so succinctly -- it simply means the politician DOES NOT CARE one way or the other about the policy (or about the infidelity), because their primary concern is how they play to their base.

19. we need more of those
but it's not very economically advantageous at the moment... and journalistic integrity is weeded out before you ever get the chance to make it on TV
a rare exception for a niche market, I suppose

12. The sad thing is the hypocrites don't mind being exposed.
And on the most part, the people that vote for them are not viewing Rachel's show.
IMO Rachel is the most honest and informing journalist on air, but unfortunately, i think she is preaching to the choir.
Possibly the choir will expand to include more conservative members, but I'm not going to hold my breath. keep up the great work rachel!

It hurts when they get hit with "facts".

Unfortunately...all the brain dead followers of this bull shit are tuned in to fox propaganda network. <sigh> Preaching to the choir.

18. They are completely devoid of shame. Not gonna happen.
The experience of embarrassment assumes the ability to feel.

These are the same subhumans who think empathy is a dirty word.

Edited on Tue Feb-16-10 10:42 PM by AsahinaKimi

They want something, and you give it to them, and then they cry about it, and don't want it. Maybe its time for the Grownups to take over! They don't want it shoved down their throat? Too bad. DO it and let them scream and moan about it all they want! After all, they all probably have diaper rash.

24. It was Bertrand Russel who said,
"The whole problem with the world (I would substitute politics here) is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves and wiser people so full of doubt."
Republicans are incapable of being embarrassed or shamed because they have no shame or feelings of self-doubt what so ever.

25. I get the point
And I give 100% credit to Rachel for raising a fairly valid point. However, I don't think this is the silver bullet that turns the momentum around for the Dems. Its an easy position to defend if I'm a repub. "Hey look, I don't like the stimulus any more than you do, but if we are handing money out and you are a constituent of mine, shouldn't I get that money for you?" While Rachel has a valid argument, this isn't anything more than a weeks debate. Maybe this is a tide turner, but it isn't the magic bullet.

29. The republicans are not the problem...
Edited on Wed Feb-17-10 03:21 AM by Andronex
...they are doing everything short of wearing black hats and moustaches and laughing in a sinister manner to help democrats along, but still the democratic leadership does not lead. We should praise republicans, Glen Beck and the teabaggers instead, where would DU be without a steady diet of these buffoons...
