3. It's a mixture of water and ash
and that means lahar.

Mt. St. Helens also produced glacial lahar flows.

4. Amazing stuff
I live in Iceland and this has been big news here, of course. Maybe not as big of news as Fox would have one believe with their scaremongering, however. And a new Internet meme has arisen here: Mocking foreign newscasters that try to say "Eyjafjallajökull". :D

On a side note regarding the term "Volcano eruption" (directed at the media, not the OP): I am perplexed as to when it became acceptable English to not change a noun into an adjective when describing another noun. I see this all the time in the last year or so, and it seems that the media is embracing this incorrect usage. I see this all the time, "Iceland volcano", "Volcano eruption"... Seriously, would we say "America president" when describing Obama, or "Germany car" when describing a Volkswagen? This fits part and parcel into the dumbing-down of the US, and is of course also embraced by the airheads at Fox who are not so interested in fancy book learnin'. Eyjafjallajökull is an IcelandIC volcano. In Iceland, we are experiencing a volcanIC eruption.
