Grayson also discusses how Gingrich is a disgrace and that the Republican party are a "heartless party" and only offer "Marie Antoinette economics", if they don't have bread, let them eat cake.

"The Republican party is the party that doesn't want to help you. They either want to blame you, or they would want to try to convince you that somehow you'd be better off if nobody helps you. If you have a problem in your life, whatever you may say about the Democratic party, it's your only hope for help. We don't always get it done but at least we're interested in trying. The Republicans couldn't care less, they don't care about you, they don't care about me, they don't care about anybody but themselves".

24. Of course we workers do
FUTA, FICA, and workman's comp are all part of the cost of labor and are treated as the cost of labor. Having been an estimator and construction manager these costs are treated no differently than hourly wage or human resource cost. Labor has to pay for all of it. Just because you don't see it on your check doesn't mean your not paying for it. Labor also pays for supervisory and human resources costs.

14. Exactly, DinahMoeHum. "I punch back." This is exactly what is lacking in the rest of our party.
"I punch back," said Grayson in the video.

Where are the other Democrats as Ed asked? Why aren't they acting passionate and PISSED OFF? They are mostly quiet as mice and hiding under the table and in the closet trying to be goody little two-shoes while the GOP continues to punch our lights out. They get angry, they have passion that the angry public relates to and it is the passionate who show up at the polls during midterm elections, since midterm elections are normally poorly attended since there is no presidential race to excite people to go to the polls.

Here's that famous speech from the film, "Network" ----

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dib2-HBsF08&feature=related

Note that Howard is speaking about the depression and the oil crisis. Sound familiar? (Nobel laureate Paul Krugman says we're in a depression RIGHT NOW, not the 1930s kind but the 1870s kind, which had its ups and downs.) Note that Howard is NOT speaking about stupid tea party issues. But today to hear the way the DLC crowd talks, you would think it is some kind of sin to put passion into the political discourse. Grayson is virtually alone in the party while most of the rest are just shuffling along waiting to get pounded in the Fall. We are all supposed to be comatose zombies on prozac wearing smile buttons while the other side punches our lights out day in and day out. Democrats used to get angry but we don't anymore.

So. Do not get emotional. Do not get passionate. Do not fight back. Let the other side win. We can't stoop to their level and we CERTAINLY can't show any guts like Grayson....

17. Love Grayson, but Marie Antoinette did not say that
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_them_eat_cake

"Let them eat cake" is the traditional translation of the French phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche", supposedly said by a French princess upon learning that the peasants had no bread. As brioche is a luxury bread enriched with eggs and butter, it would reflect the princess's obliviousness to the nature of a famine.

Although commonly attributed to Queen Marie Antoinette,<1> there is no record of these words ever having been uttered by her; they first appear in Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions, his putative autobiographical work (completed in 1769, when Marie Antoinette was 13), where he wrote the following in Book 6:

Enfin je me rappelai le pis-aller d’une grande princesse à qui l’on disait que les paysans n’avaient pas de pain, et qui répondit : Qu’ils mangent de la brioche.

Finally I recalled the last resort of a great princess who was told that the peasants had no bread, and who responded: "Let them eat brioche."

Rousseau does not name the "great princess" and there is speculation that he invented the anecdote, which has no other sources.<2>

In Chinese culture, there is a variation of this story that involves rice and meat, instead of bread and cake.<3>
