who believe charlatans such as Thompson, Huckabee and especially Glen Beck. Some "Christians"! :puke:
Sorry to say this but truly the sympathy I have is None; there are lots of legal tender one can buy without contribution towards the profit of those kinds of companies (including those "pure gold CLAD" coins hawked in commercials). Legal tender gold coins are minted by countries such as Canada: the 24K Maple Leaf (but soft metal being 24K, however the price of gold is never going to be Higher or Lower than the coins current/contemporary face value), Australia: Nugget & various series, and even the U.s.: the Eagle just to name a few. Usually there are premiums one has to pay, for example the premium on Maples is 5%.
As for the 24K coins, I'm just careful with them, wrap them up separately & store in my bankbox or safe.
Krugerrands aren't legal tender but they're an alloy rather than pure (therefore harder so OK to jingle in your pocket -- if you like that kind of thing ; ) plus the premiums to buy cost less. Besides, many collectors prefer buying Krugerrands and they are in great demand.
Even buying cheap scrap gold yourself & stashing it can't hurt as you can always sell the gold for its going market value.
Anyhow, if these people want to believe Glen Beck et. al. on anything and forgo research --on an investment!-- then they get what they deserve. :nopity:
IMHO of course.
