1. I believe an outstanding point was made by Cenk around the 4:42 mark re: Obama made the case.
Kicked and recommended.

Thanks for the thread, CherylK.

9. That really is key
The past week has been great for getting an insight into how the media operates. All that needs to happen for the media to get on an issue is have enough people in power make the same points over and over. The reason they usually parrot right-wing talking points is because the right is louder and more willing to make provocative statements.

All Obama and the dems need to do is be on the right side of an issue and carry out a full on coordinated media blitz similar to what the repubs do all the time. Flood the airwaves with your point and watch as the repubs are forced to go on the defense.

2. Right! When Obama makes his case, he wins. He has nothing
to be afraid of. Now that his ratings are lower, he is taking the risk. That's good. He needs to take the risk. It isn't really a very big risk, he will find.

4. Notice that military cuts were NEVER mentioned on the MTP clip...by Gregory or Sessions?
Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 05:36 PM by bulloney
Even suggesting military cuts must be lethal to politicians and media gerbils.

How did the military become this sacred cow? We spend as much on military as the rest of the world COMBINED. Much of it on obsolete and malfunctioning weapons and fighting wars we have no business being involved in.

I will give Gregory some credit (now, there's a first for me). He did try to get Sessions to give specifics and flat-out told him that the voters are tired of this BS, generalities and rhetoric that don't accomplish anything.

I realize that political flaming assholes are everywhere, but Texas seems to produce more than its fair share: Tom Delay, Phil Gramm, Dick Armey, George Bush, and on and on.

5. Not from Texas
George Bush, Dick Armey and Phil Gramm are not Texans; they were all born in other states, and found there way here as millions of others have.

6. I stand corrected. I'll amend my remark by stating that Texas must attract more than its share
of a-holes.

BTW, I did know that Bush was born in Connecticut, but was marketed as a Texan.

7. Many people will change their minds about an issue when they find out the
facts. Lying down or kowtowing to republican lies doesn't do anyone, any favors. Except the liars themselves.
