allowed to expire...I am done...done....done...

10. +1
This issue can't be any more clear-cut. All Congress has to do is - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and they still may manage to screw that up.

4. it is like watching a bunch of 11 year olds pretending to have coherent ideas

One of the stupidest shows I have ever seen - even by Fox standards... Levine is the only one I saw (before I had to turn the durn thing off) that had something cogent to offer.

This is worse than late night plastic jewelry infomercials

9. The brutal 'right' has no cogent argument for continuing tax
cuts for people making over 200,00 bucks. They argue that 200,00 bucks ain't rich ( a helluva lot richer than most people we know, right? ); the "land of oportunity" that has made this country what it is etc. Bullshit and more bullshit.

5. 10 years of deficit raising tax cuts for the rich - So where are all the jobs the lying republicans
Edited on Tue Aug-03-10 01:25 AM by LaPera
insist these tax cuts for the rich produce? It's been 10 years since Bush gave these unfair tax cuts to the rich. Again, where's all the jobs?

Because it's all republican bullshit!

Over 22 million jobs were produced by Clinton and then Bush gives huge tax cuts to the rich for the past ten years so where in the fuck are all these jobs in the last ten years that the lying republicans tax cuts for the rich insist produce?

All we got is huge deficits from these tax cuts for the top 2% of the most extremely greedy who have not paid their fair share who are still bitching and want more, always more!

Yet the rich take advantage of everything OUR taxes pay for from the military protecting their corporations interest to government subsidies for their corporations and they produce no jobs just more deficit meant to destroy & gut ALL progressive social programs....

12. 10 years?
More like 30 years--ever since the Reaganites "convinced" us that "trickle-down" was the way to go. Give the rich tax cuts and they'll re-invest in America. Everybody wins!!!

Horseshit!!! The wealthy got their tax cuts and then took their money and invested it in foreign companies and countries where labor costs were mere pennies. At least that's what they did with the money they didn't hide away in secret offshore tax havens.

Meanwhile the American workers and middle class are suffering...

I've had it with all this bullshit!!!

7. I thought I was gonna puke..
:puke: Where were some non-rich participants? Before Reagan fucked everything up so terribly, the very wealthiest were paying 70%-90% tax rates. Most were not complaining because they understand, that is what it takes to ensure that America is (pre-Reagan)able to function as a compassionate Democracy. The very wealthy still make (made) way more than anyone else, because the tax rates were progressive.
I can not even believe that this is a topic for conversation. The 98% of non-wealthy Americans should TURN FOX OFF.

8. The "progressive" aspect of the taxes is unfortunately not emphasized enough.
Those rates of 70% to 90% were applied only on the highest portions of income, not on the whole pot. I think this point is obscured too often to make the tax system *appear* to be unfair to the rich.
