3. Exactly.
The Tea Party is the Republican Party. They were created by FOX news and Dick Armey with money from the usual big bucks GOP donors. There's no separating them. It's like saying the Brown Shirts weren't members of the Nazi Party.

4. The Rethuglicans have cancerous
brains (assuming they HAVE any sort of brains). Likely it's this party-wide affliction that causes them to spew lies and stupidity.

7. +1...I'm a big fan of Cenk, but disagree with him here. The tea party IS the Repub party
at this point. No difference; ignorant, vile, hate filled assholes. And I HOPE he's right about them being the beginning of the end, but have great fears that it's the opposite; that it's a beginning of a truly dangerous and openly fascist party gaining mainstream acceptance.

In a two party system, what will the second party be if republicans no longer are viable?

8. Just as the Democrats became too "liberal" in the 1970's,
At least that was the popular opinion back then, the Republicans have now become too conservative. Extremes don't really work for very long in this country. People are more moderate than we think.

11. "too liberal" really meant "get out of Vietnam"
By that standard, I was "too liberal" then, and am "too liberal" now.

15. I'm not saying we were wrong.
But, if you were around back then, you know that it was a popular meme.

It wasn't coincidental.

18. Yes, remember why that was.
Carter didn't get primaried from the right. The problems was, as always, that Democrats were abandoning their base.

13. Don't worry
The right wing nut jobs can't stay angry at a black man who try to give health care to poor sick people forever. Soon they will loose interest and start protesting against gay marriage again.

23. The cancer is how the Republican Party handled the Tea Partiers
by not addressing the roots of their anger, the racism, homophobia and violent tendencies--and channeling that anger in a socially responsible way to give everyone dignity. People are losing their fucking homes, dying in painful ways because they cannot afford healthcare, jobs and security. This could have been nipped in the bud from the very start, but no, it was enabled to get even crazier.

I am disappointed in the Democratic Party too, for not giving dignity to it's members who are voicing the strongest opinions--the roots being the exact same thing--because we too are losing our homes, health, jobs and safety.

Cancers in society come from ignoring the roots of the problems, and allowing them to distort, morph and fester in the most degraded and insulting ways. We cannot afford this shit. The infighting will continue to get worse and worse.

People are dying and suffering , and now is not the time to take away people's human dignity by telling them to sit down and shut up, but to remind them of it by truly listening.
