An EXCELLENT journalistic report by Rachel Maddow. It's a shame that we don't have more like her :)

1. K&R! I absolutely agree! This was must-see TV!!!
This was so well done and Rachel asked the perfectly obvious question that no one else is asking. Why are these dedicated soldiers still being fired and their lives disrupted when DADT is supposed to be repealed? Why not just let these people carry on? :grr:

2. Judge Vaughan REALLY NAILED IT.
The premise under which these people's lives have been turned upside down is, 'no matter how substantial our investment in you or how well you have performed YOU WILL BE TREATED AS AN INFERIOR BEING!

Watching Cadet Miller made me cry.

After Gibbs' stellar performance the other day, THIS is a perfect opportunity for Obama to kiss and make up.

3. Obama is Kramer
You all remember that famous rant that ended Michael Richard's career. The one where he went on a self-destructive rant about African Americans and used the N-word about a 100 times. At the beginning of his rant, I think that most people had a half-smile, subconciously hoping that any second now he would bring people back and that a punchline was right around the corner. We were hoping that Kramer was really doing some type of Lenny Bruce bit and we would soon be realizing that he was making a profound statement about race and the use of the N word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOnkv76rNL4&feature=related As the seconds and minutes rolled by, the sad truth became clear and it was obvious that the punchline would never come. In short, he was nothing more than a racist.

I think that the same thing is happening to Obama. I have been thinking that Obama is really a genius who has some strategy that us mere mortals just can not see. I was hoping that maybe before the midterm elections, he would pass a bunch of things that he promised so that they are fresh in our minds. I can do a little cheer in my head saying "In your face, Rethugs!!" and all would be good in the world. Unfortunately, time is ticking away and it is starting to become clear that this cheer is not going to happen.
