7. Sorry to be stoking the Nazi meme again...

...but this video reminded me of a story that a friend of mine told me about when he was studying in Germany. He was talking to one of his professors about the Nazi period, and he explained it like this: "You know how when you're sitting around in a beer hall (or a VFW in the US) and you hear a bunch of old guys pontificating about what needs to be done in this country? During the Nazi period those guys got to be in charge."

Listening to these Republican dopes talking, much of what they're saying sounds to me like something that would be said in a half-drunken conversation with their friends in a bar- but they are saying it to the national media.
