This one is especially stupid after the study released last week showing a correlation between antibodies to a certain strain of adenovirus and obesity in kids. The difference in weight between infected kids and uninfected kids was 50 pounds, a huge difference in a kid.

Most kids can stand a huge amount of junk food without putting on weight, they burn it right off since kids are always moving, even when they're trying to sit still.

It's not just that hamburger, Ma, or the video games or homework or sitting for six hours a day in school. There is something else going on and they're only now beginning to track it down.

6. No, it's horrible stuff and it will make you feel like shit

and will harm your body if you try to live on it.

However, it's not the whole story with obesity, which is my point.

But junk food + fat virus = Worlds Biggest Loser.
Btw, I just can't decide how I feel about that show. On the one hand, it's good to show people that they can take control of their lives. On the other, it's brutal.

9. I'd feel better if we actually had a cure for obesity

but people who are bullied, starved or surgically altered to get down to their ideal weight gain it all back in 5 years to the tune of 90+%. That means we not only don't know what's going on, we don't have a clue what to do about it.
