Am I pissed? You damn right I am. Do I think President Obama could have done, and can still do a better job than he's done? You're damn right again. Am I gonna keep bitching and complaining? Yes, I'm a democrat, that's what we do.

VOTE DEMS IN NOVEMBER. EVEN IF YOU'RE PISSED.....

- The man speaks TRUTH.

2. It's true-- even if we're pissed- we still need to Vote for Dems
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 03:33 PM by KaryninMiami
Otherwise. everything will not only stop progressing but will revert backwards. Are things changing as fast as many of us would wish? Nope. Not even close. Are we on the right track? In most areas- absolutely. Is there room for improvement-- for certainly- but there's no chance of anything else moving forward if we loose Congress and the Senate. NONE. Vote early and Vote Blue. Period. Except for Bernie Sanders of course (not sure if he's even up this year- but if he were running here in Florida, I'd vote for whatever ticket he ran on!)!

3. Absolutely.
I'm not voting so much for my http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Cooper">Blue Dog Congresscritter as much as I'm voting to try to keep the Speakers Gavel out of John Boehner's hands.

17. Have you looked at the voting record for that Blue Dog?
My guess is that our nation would be better off if that seat went to a 'Thug instead of a fake Democrat.

My fondest wish is that all Blue Dogs will lose their seats in congress and we gain a seat for a TRUE Democrat in another part of the country. I have never been so pissed off at Bill Clinton as when he helped Blanche Lincoln defeat the Democratic candidate in the primaries.

19. Fortunately, I have no such conflict.
At least in the Senate race--what's not to like about Russ Feingold?

I'm not as thrilled by the young (in my antique eyes) woman who is running to replace Dave Obey, but of course I'll vote for her, even though she's the one who as a state legislator blocked the medical marijuana bill from coming out of committee, end even though she waffles on Afghanistan, and she won't take a stand against extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich.

But hey, ya can't have everything, so I'm content this time around to put my shoulder behind Russ and push as hard as I can.

Even people who may not generally like Maher will have to admit this one's priceless -- especially the last part:

13. I'm voting because I"m not trying to put the train in reverse all the way back to 1948
the thugs have nothing for anyone who believes in moving forward. They've got it all for those who won't let go of the past.

They are stuck in reverse, capital R, like republican.

I've watched the president take on problems that he didn't cause and solve them and make money from the venture. No one said the sausage making of it was going to be a pretty sight and it's not, nor do I expect it to be so. But in the end, there was a result that steer the country onto a better course than it was in January 2009.

My job is to make sure to vote as many dems/progressives/liberals in as I can so that the obstruction in congress is finally dissolved and the things which will benefit this country can move forward.

14. FACTS-NUMBERS VOID OPINIONS
WRECKONOMICS II REV 7-12-10
COURTESY :WALL STREET OF AMERICA
LEADERSHIP VIA CONSERVATIVE POLICIES
THANKS TO RONALD REAGAN AND G W BUSH

From 1946 to 1980 the period was known as the GREAT MIDDLE CLASS YEARS
Each President worked to reduce the Debt from WWII.
In 1980 Debt was less than 1000 Billion and Government Spending was 600 Billion per year.

Reagan boastful Cut Taxes plus Cut the size of Government was a Trojan Horse, per his OMB Stockman, to cut Taxes for very rich.

Reagan was Governor for 8 years during which he increased Taxes on many items.
He increased the state revenues more than any predecessor.
By Far. Cutting Government? Ho Hum. Blarney Baloney once more.

Reagan policies increased Spending by 80% .
Debt by 186%.
9-3-01 Debt was $999.9 Billion and 9-30-89 at $1,859 Billion
Conservatives use Spin: It was Congress.
From 1930 to 1980 we spent $6066 Billion.
Reagan 8 Budgets totaled over $7000 Billion.
Congress? Ho Hum.
Blarney Baloney.
Congress returned Reagan 8 budgets for his signature with
fewer total dollars on them.
Haynes Johnson in “sleepwalking” said Reagan administration was “most scurrilous in history”
138 were investigated /charged/fined. More than total for all preceding Presidents in 20th century.
There were scandals in 27 Departments of the Federal Government.
Most involved money fraud.
The book “Ronald Reagan-There he goes again” documents over 300 incorrect statements by good old Ron.
Each President from 1945 reduced the Debt then came Spend-Borrow Reagan
to increase government by 80%.

THEN-Here comes GHW BUSH.
No braggart here. Nice Gentleman.
He increased Debt to $4411 Billion.
A 54% Increase.
Give him credit for increasing Tax on Rich due to out of control Deficits.
He had courage to put America first over ideology and party.

THEN-Pay your Way CLINTON ARRIVES
The Debt on 9-30-1993 was $4411 Billion.
The Debt on 9-3-01 was $5807 Billion.
An increase of $1396 or 31%
Clinton reduced the Deficit in each of first four years.
He ended with a surplus.

HERE comes old King of Spend-Borrow GW BUSH
Debt was $5807 Billion and on 9-30-09 it was $11,909 Billion.
105% increase.
Reagan-186%
Bush I-54%
Clinton-31%
Bush II-105%

Reagan-Bush I-Bush II did not pay down a penny of debt in 20 years

Those Three Famous Conservatives added $10,946 Billion to our Debt.

Three so called Famous “conservatives” promoted cut government.
Up = Down to them.

INTEREST ON DEBT
9-30-81 to 9-30-09 we paid $8400 Billion in Interest.
87% Interest Paid on Debt incurred by the Famous 3.

Is it not possible that without Reagan + Bush Tax Cuts we would enjoy a Surplus?

REDISTRIBUTION DOWN TO MIDDLE CLASS

Increase Unearned Income Tax to 40%. Make Gamblers pay.
Increase Top Income Tax Rate to 40%
Increase Estate Tax big time big time biggie
Eliminate Loopholes on Corporate profits—Set a Minimum
2008 -16% average payment-(top rate 35%)

In 2003 distribution of corporate profits by CBO report revealed
Bottom 80% of Income earners got 8%--Top 5% got 67%---Top 1% got 49%
2009 Tax Return of Exxon pays no tax on billions in profits. Wrong. Sad.
Renew Revenue Sharing to return cost to rich from middle class

18. That was outstanding! The Dems may be far from perfect
but the alternative is oh soooo much worse. Obama is working is arse off against formidable enemies, better known as entrenched wealth and power. Get behind the Dems, VOTE, and then hold their feet to the fire.

20. I'm phone banking for Sestak in PA tonight.
Get out there and get out the vote. There are more of us than there are of them. If each of us gets one person to vote for Democrats who otherwise would stay home on election day, that would double our vote totals. Everyone please stop bitching that Obama hasn't given you a pony for your birthday; work to get out the vote. If we can get a super majority in Congress, you might just get your pony. If the Repukes win, then we are all fucked. It's that simple.

21. Divide n Conquer
courtesy of the corporate media which also propagandizes the party "ideologies"...Not that I support Republican party goals, most of us would be united if we were not manipulated by people like Bill Maher to fight each other instead of the corporations which oppress us.
Plus, Democrats do a lot of the same stuff they just don't admit it...

If given the choice, I suspect many would prefer a THIRD party, but true support for one is made impossible because of the manufactured media representation.

22. Third Party President isn't enough
The congress needs to be as well; a president needs support in that congress.
Not just congressional members; supporting special interests, instead of the people.
They need to go back to majority vote in the senate, to reverse the blatant obstructionism from republicans.
The "Blue Dogs" should run as independents and raise their own money if they are to obstruct and be one local issue candidates, only worried about their own reelection, rather than take the though principaled votes.
