CNN's own report on the firing of Sanchez, with a background report mentioning other bigoted comments recently heard from media types.

Steward is NOT responding on this video.

anything bigoted. If anything, she was speaking against bigotry and the violence that follows.

... but the above video is not "CNN's own report of the firing of Sanchez" - it's ABC News. It's funny you can't tell the difference. And this video does show the text of Stewart's response starting at 0.13 seconds thru 20. The response was in the form of a joke, but a response nonetheless. Watch the video again. You'll see.

2. not to nitpick, but.... this is a nice montage of media reporting of

sanchez's firing but nothing about stewart responding to what he said.

I am flabbergasted at how many folks in this thread missed Stewart's response at the beginning of this video. Were your eyes closed thru the first twenty seconds? C'mon DUers... I'm losing faith in your reading comprehension skills.

10. Rick Sanchez was just too insecure..

It is hard to take being the brunt of jokes if you have a big ego and take yourself seriously.

Rick Sanchez could not laugh at himself. The over-caffeinated bit was not an attack on Sanchez himself. It was an attack on the pressure at CNN.

A little humility would have saved Sanchez. The whole situation is rather sad. I would bet that the Stewart jokes were not the only problem Sanchez was having.
