There was a bigger crowd outside John Yoo's forum than inside (if you subtract the torture opponents who went inside on Dean's false promise that there would be a "robust debate" and UST's own contingent of security guards).

The forum did not, of course, live up to its promise and merely served as inane attempt on behalf of Yoo and D...elahunty (and their UST mentor Michael Stokes Paulsen) to self-aggrandize and legitimize their illegal stances.

I counted only 30 some students inside in attendance and later heard them introduce themselves as Delahunty's "presidential power" students. It's unconscionable how St. Thomas Law School is misleading their students on war powers overriding the Judiciary and legislative branches.

Former White House Counsel John Yoo was the featured speaker at a St. Thomas University School of Law conference on, "Presidential Power: Prudence or Perversion."
Yoo, now a professor at the University of California Berkeley School of Law joins his former White House associate, Robert Delahunty, now a law professor at St. Thomas.

Yoo was the author of the famous memo allowing President Bush to torture captives in the war an terror. Delahunty is credited with assisting Yoo. Both men have become lightning rods for torture protest groups.

A variety of anti-torture and anti-war groups met on the mall outside St. Thomas Law School campus to peaceably voice their opinions. Some went inside to passively observe the conference.

(on a side note, the conservative Arch-Bishop of MN. sent out 400,000 DVD that same sex marriage was a sin and not to vote for candidates who support it... yet the Catholic University has a Professor that teaches its ok to say some don't fall under human rights)
