1. Cenk at his best
I like seeing him on MSNBC but I always feel like he is not in his element there. This is where he shines.

2. Well on the network there are rules
He can't very well call out the motherfuckers as motherfuckers on MSNBC, no matter how right he would be to do so. I'd love to see him get a MSM show though even if he has to tone it down; we need more people like him and Rachel who will not just call out the motherfuckers but do so with some rabble-rousing passion.

(Hah, I just realized that "motherfuckers" is in Firefox's spelling dictionary. Nice.)

3. Cenk should treat Anna with more respect.
She is apparently the only female employee of the show who is visible. She presents some good items, but Cenk is paternalistic toward her. That is something he needs to examine in himself. He should not make fun of her or tease her on the show. That kind of behavior puts her in a difficult position because, as a woman, she cannot respond aggressively and attack him or put him down. She just has to be quiet and kind of absorb his offensive behavior.

Cenk needs to let her just present on her own more often. She does a great job of it. It builds her confidence and then she will be more of a partner.

Men should not put women in a position in which they either have to appear to be a threat to the guy's masculinity or a accept being subtly put down.

Once that moment of neanderthal behavior had passed, Cenk's comments were great.

16. Anna's great, and I like Cenk. He is one of my favorites.
But he does not always treat Anna as respectfully as he should, in my opinion.

15. The date from hell
Can't say I'm a regular viewer of The Young Turks. It's not
that I disagree with anything he was saying, it just seems
like the whole format of the show is screwy and is bound to
come off bad. It doesn't know if it's sort of a scripted show
between political pros or a conversation between two friends
or what. The end result is you get Cenk delivering these
lectures and Ana just sort of nodding and agreeing and it all
sounds like a nightmare version of the Tonite Show with Johnny
Carson and Ed McMahon where Johnny isn't charming and Ed isn't
actually having a good time.

They should just ditch the format.

17. I am a big fan of the Young Turks. Cenk is one of the few with the
courage to say what he says. I agree with him on many, many things. He has a very level head and his feet are on the ground. He is willing to say what other people barely dare think.

I just think he should treat Anna more like the very intelligent person that she is.

It is hard for a woman to demand to be given respect. Yet, unless a woman is given respect, she cannot become as strong as she could be. Most of Cenk's interactions with Anna are not this troubling. But as a mom and as one who remembers what it was like in the working world as a woman who was often treated as a second-class citizen even when I knew more than the men I was working with, I could not stay silent about this.

I remember the days when well educated women were relegated to the typing pool while inexperienced, uneducated men held the management jobs. I know how it feels to be treated badly by a boss.

18. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think Cenk is trying to be disrespectful
I watch the show every single day, I never miss it. And they always have this sort of banter back and forth. To say that Cenk is disrespecting Ana, is more of an insult towards her because she's sitting there taking it. And I think Ana is way too intelligent to do that. So obviously, they have a very close professional relationship. And the show is relaxed enough for it to be okay.

There are so many people out there that just don't understand their humor. That is one of the reasons why I don't think Cenk should take his sense of humor to MSNBC, because it's not translated well enough for people to grasp onto it. Many will be offended or take it the wrong way. But that's another subject...

7. Big K&R, this is a very important topic.
Headline on Yahoo via AP just now: "Obama likely to focus on deficit in next 2 years". Exactly.

But what we need to realize, and what we need to be very vocal about, is that A, the deficit is step 2 in fixing our economy. Step 1 is creating jobs and keeping people in their homes. The deficit is of secondary importance to that, by far.

And B, hello, these privatized industries are sucking us dry! If you care about the deficit and government spending, stop paying Halliburton $100 per load of laundry! Stop paying private companies to run our prison systems at huge profits and use that money to lobby to turn us into a fascist police state! It's not just destroying our democracy, which the wingnuts don't seem to give a crap about, it's the real reason we have such a huge deficit!

27. Isn't it odd that no one mentions repealing NAFTA
when it comes to creating jobs? Wonder why ?

Privatizing prisons took some jobs too. Prison labor was used to clean up the Gulf. When judges receive kick backs for sending people to prison...and their labor is used for US business. ..you have to go HMMMMM

23. There is a proposal to build one in our area
http://www.mcall.com/news/local/easton/mc-slate-belt-prison-20101020,0,1037161.story

"GEO Group, a Florida company that operates more than 40 prisons in the U.S. and others abroad, is considering breaking ground just south of the Portland Industrial Park in Upper Mount Bethel Township.

"The 128-acre facility would house illegal immigrants, most of whom have committed crimes and are awaiting deportation. The prison could become the area's biggest private taxpayer, state Rep. Richard Grucela said — and for a rural district that has sought development and job growth for years, that's a rare windfall.

"We did our research and realized you're pushing 10 percent unemployment," GEO Group Vice President of Business Development Cloid Shuler told a Northampton County Council committee on Wednesday. "We'd like to solve that problem."

25. Have you seen Anna's face at 12:00?
She's like OMG Cenk is loosing it...

Yes, Cenk we are screwed because the problem is systemic. Whomever you vote for, it's not gonna change because the corporations have corrupted the whole system.

And, as far as I know, there is only one way to change a system.

Anarchists, wake up! Your time has come!

28. In too late for a recommend
But I'd like to say that then concept of private prisons for profit is a recipe for abuse of the system, the prisoners, and the tax payer. Hands down a wrong headed idea.
