1. It feels good to have saved an American icon.
Yay us and yay GM.

2. I like how they went with the universal theme that we all fall down. Then we root for the comeback.

21. Typical GM. Long on emotion..but devoid of facts.
GM cars, trucks and SUVs are seldom, if ever rated "best in category" in reliability or road test comparisons.

GM cars still suck. If you want to buy a big three domestic, look at a Ford. They feel down...but picked THEMSELVES up.

23. Ford was more savvy in preparing for the credit crunch and that is what really saved them.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/business/09ford.html

Basically they borrowed billions in 2006 to restructure the firm when funds were plentiful. It's the financial guys at Ford who saved their butts.

9. GM picked themselves up.
They did all the work. All they needed was a loan.

5. Great Ad!
Saw that today for the first time. It is about the best ad I have seen in a long time. Extremely well done and conveys the message extremely well.

7. GM, showing its class. Humbly thanking those who helped
it when all hope was gone; giving it the breath of life and most of us were solidly behind them.

The criminals of Wall st; Not so much; they've got no class; like vampires, just vicious and unscrupulous greed, never satiated. They never should have gotten a penny from us.

GM and the auto industry however, had to be saved and I am proud many of us cheered that bailout on while condemning the other. The auto industry is part of our corpus; our arteries and vital organs; Wall st is not.

Wall st is an enemy who has been and is, carelessly sucking the blood from this country while giving nothing in return but more lies and theft. The architects of their bail out should be hung by the toes in the town sq. and spat upon by all those they have injured and whose lives they have stolen by striping them of their last cent and leaving them in the street; then spend the rest of their lives in prisons other than the ones they hold major interests in. Brave new world, New World Order, The Third Way fuk'n be damned. These bastards can go to hell.

11. I made a point to buy American-made cars
with the exception of a used Audi and lemon Mitsubishi- both more expensive to fix and insure.

I didn't think so.

"No!"

I wonder how many people started reciting lines from "Animal House" after seeing that clip?

17. Remember, they are a multinational corporation that would drop us in
A second if it meant an extra dollar per unit. Remember what they did to the workers in Flint, Michigan.

I appreciate their thanks, but I still don't trust them.
