Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian president, has been meeting the foreign minister for the United Arab Emirates and announced a roadmap for changes.

Mubarak set up three different committees to tackle the changes, but for the protesters in Tahrir Square it is not enough.

The protesters want the president and the government to go now, they want free elections, and a whole new beginning.

Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher reports.

2. Mubarak is just hoping that the world will shut its eyes.
The yawn in the post above me indicates that Mubarak's strategy is working.

We have to keep watching.

What Mubarak does not seem to understand is that, if he does not agree to the protestors' demands at this time, if he takes vengeance on them once the world's attention has moved on to the next crisis, then he will have an underground rebellion on his hands.

The longer Mubarak stays in power, the more likely it is that the Muslim Brotherhood and various extremists in the country, those who are not as restrained and rational as the group in the Square, will move to organize the disgruntled from all walks of life. Mubarak is holding on to his personal power and increasing the risk of a lot of ugly violence and a very bad outcome.

You cannot suppress the natural desire that dwells in all people for self-determination. That desire will find an outlet. If Mubarak tries to repress those in the Square, if he stays in power and then clamps down on the movement that has shown its face openly in the square, another movement, far more dangerous for Egypt (and Israel) will arise. Mubarak must name a successor who is acceptable to the people in the square and to Egypt's allies and let that individual lead the way to democracy.

Only a fool would stay on at this time.

3. Only a fool indeed
The yawn is because all of these Egypt post are the same information but from different sources. None of it is "news" by definition.

What causes you to equate the Muslim Brotherhood to extremists?
Where do you get this information from?
