In these dark days of our republic, we need every voice we can get to keep the heat under the arses of the flatulant, or the hesitant or the afraid, if we want any real and significant change. If we have leaders who are too afraid to stand up to the military machine, we need to correct those leaders with The Truth. If we have leaders who are defending the honor and integrity of our supreme allied commander who out and out lied to congress, as if he was a tobacco executive, we need to throw that commander out.

It's just really unfortunate that more people don't know about the Young Turks. Every morning on Air America. Before that on Sirius satellite, and RadioPower. And live broadcasts on the Turks website the whole time! Too bad you didn't have an opportunity to experience the show with Ben and Jill, that was the first version. Then it was Cenk and Ben, and that was also awesome. Too bad Ben had to go. Also great when Michael Shure or Wes Clark Jr. (my personal favorite Ben replacement) sit in. But Cenk hold's his own. The thing is I used to be a Republican ... because my parents called themselves "Goldwater conservatives," and flirted with the John Birch Society.

I worked in the defense contracting industry for over 10 years, and my husband was in the oil and gas industry for over two decades. Fortunately, we came over to the Good Side; but, we know the Truth. Hubby has always said that the heads of the oil and gas industries regard themselves as WAY ABOVE countries and the rabble.

Social work put me on a crash course with reality - the reality of most, the reality of many. Then law school drug us both in the leftward direction the rest of the way (Rethuglicans don't seem to understand even the basics about what our country was intended to be like).

The thing I learned was that conservative theories are just plain flawed - and wishful thinking. The other thing I learned was that virtually each Rethuglican has two lives - the social facade and the hidden weirder one. They just can't come even a bit close to living their lives openly and honestly. It just doesn't seem to be in their DNA.
