1. Using "Fox News" and "distorts" in any sentence is redundant! (n/t)

2. ok I actually watched this whole thing
The allegations about the times are based on the Blair case, which of course did happen but hardly reflects on all the reporting the times has ever done. Then there is the Duke Lacrosse case, in which the times did rush to judgment, as (if I recall correctly) several other outlets did too. Fox viewers will love that one because the white boys were victimized by the black girl and the danged librul media. Then rest is blubbering about the tea party and the obvious connection of the far right to the Loughner shooting. Loughner ranted about the gold standard and the evil big gubberment etc, just as the teabaggers do.

There are other ways in which the times has erred or showed bias over the years, and Judith Miller comes to mind. That is not mentioned of course, since that bias was in favor of neo-conservatives. Gee I wonder why they left that out.

There have been several studies of bias at FOX, all of which are much more compelling than the evidence they have on the times. This is a classic case of the guy in the glass house and his bucket full of rocks.

5. Let's not forget that the Times put Whitewater "in play" nationally...
...so not only did they incubate the biggest bullshit-scandal about Clinton, only to be accused by the likes of Limbaugh for not covering it as proof of their "liberal bias".

And then there's the Times reluctance to investigate the various covert projects of the Reagan & Bush administrations.

For a blast (of media criticism) from the past, the Dec. 1991 issue of Lies of Our Times can be read online at:

3. If there is left wing bias in the NY Times
I welcome it because nearly the entire rest of the media has been co-opted by the right. Many of us have been critical of the unfair media for a long time now while we watched the unfairness grow. How are people to know anything now?

I know how Fox determines if a news source is left or right. If a news source isn't 100% radical far right wing all the time, in the opinion of Fox, it is liberal.

4. Well, there is bias at the Times, but it's not "liberal". It's what i used to call...
"Yuppie bias": socially "liberal" (and even then not completely, but enough that the RWers can point to it and call it "liberal") but economically "pro-business" (which is actually only pro-certain-kinds-of-businesses and anti-everyone-else).

7. And it was the Times
Cheney cited for reporting stories of Saddam Hussein's WMD. With a special thank you to Judith Miller for legitimizing the Bush cartel's march to a war predicated on lies. Whatever Pox News does is propaganda and should not be confused with actual news.
Deport Michelle Malkin.

8. This is only one of the BIG LIES that MUST be told over and over again by the
right wing hate machine. The fact is that the NYT is as corrupt as any mainstream news outlet in America. This is Carlin's "false choice" in action.
