Democracy NOW! DN! - Military officials have announced alleged whistleblower U.S. Army Private Bradley Manning, who is suspected of leaking classified U.S. documents to WikiLeaks, has been cleared to be held as a medium security prisoner at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where he was just transferred. Up until last week, Manning was held in 23-hour a day solitary confinement at a Marine brig in Quantico, Virginia. His treatment at Quantico was condemned by Amnesty International and led to a probe by a torture expert at the United Nations. We speak to http://salon.com legal blogger and constitutional law attorney Glenn Greenwald, who revealed in December that Manning was being subjected to detention conditions likely to inflict long-term psychological injuries. 5. Yet it can be proven that Bush/Cheney lied us into a war of choice but Manning is worse?

6. Look at what they choose to ignore vs what they consider serious crimes.

2. If the Bush administration treated Manning the way the Obama administration is, DU would, rightly,
be going ape-shit.

No excuse for this criminal action by our government. That includes Obama.

7. this is rather curious to me too.
if the guy we voted in does it (figuratively of course) then it's something that should be overlooked or simply ignored. I get why, but I still find it curious.

3. IMO Manning's treatment is being used as a warning to other
would be whistleblowers: "This is what will happen to you!"
Very Bushie style coercion techniques.
