People don't like to use the word evil anymore. It reminds them of judgmental religious right wing fanatics. But evil knows no religious affiliation or lack there of. It is an intrinsic part of the human psyche as real as love, pain or the fear of bad breath.
Power uses Torture not because it works as a means to get information. The Romans never expected any real answers from J.C. or any one else they crucified. That did not keep them from displaying them on every major road way in and out of Rome.

1. Because they want everyone to know they can.
2. Because they can.
3. Because there are always sick F$%#s in the world who like to.
We ought to be ashamed some of those sick creatures are working in our name. They ought to be ashamed. But history has shown, they will not be. Far from being ashamed, they will likely make excuses for themselves and their policies just like all the evil bastards that came before them. And just like those before them, history will judge them to be the cowards, the immoral, self righteous, self serving, loathsome bullies they most certainly are.
Did I mention I felt they were Evil. I can't prove this. I, unlike the people the far right of the political spectrum is said to represent, do not claim to be the judge of such things. But if they believe in judgment, and I think many of them do, here's wishing them all a very "stacked" court. Let the jury be full of their "interrogation" victims.
