13. This OP should get hundreds of recommendations.
If we want to understand why the nation has gone to hell all we have to do is watch this video clip. This is the reason we have to throw Obama out of office. He is assisting the Republicans in their efforts at every turn. This should be apparent to even the most gullible among us by now.

4. K&R!!!
''The problem, really, is idiotic attempts at “triangulation.” When Bill Clinton first adopted the strategy on 1992 and onwards, it worked remarkably well for him, and drove the GOP nuts, because he had adopted and claimed credits for many of their ideas (i.e. Welfare reform) while allowing him to push his own policy objectives (i.e. tax policy).

Since then, however, the GOP has learned to “game” the triangulation strategy. It’s simple. Triangulation is just another word for “meeting the opposition half way.” If you are in the opposition and want to successfully counter (or game) your opponent’s triangulation strategy, all you need to do is move so absurdly to the right that your opponent’s “triangulation” position falls precisely where you want it to fall. Instead of your opponent playing you, you are now playing him.

I only half-blame Bill Clinton for this. He may have been the first to successfully implement the strategy, but it’s a lack of imagination on the part of recent Democrats that they continue to rely on the strategy, even as it’s painfully obvious that it’s working against them.''

7. This is a really good segment...
...that describes the Chicago School of Economics and how it differs from classical economics. Mainly, it fails to differentiate between productive capital vs. non-productive capital, thus opening the door to what we have now, which is casino capitalism.

8. Not only is the Chicago School associated with
Milton Friedman and neo-liberal economics, it is also associated with Leo Strauss and neo-colonialism - a la William Crystal, Paul Wolfowitz and their ilk.

16. Current Accepted Economic Models ARE the Problem!
The perpetuation of neo-liberal fallacies will only prolong our economic malaise and damage the lives of more people.

22. I agree
the Chicago School of Business has a lot to answer for. What do you expect from a university that was co-founded by John D. Rockefeller.

Republicans - Democrats. That's the delusion you're all trapped in.

Why, oh why, didn't I take the blue pill ?

11. of course Republicans and Democrats are 2 sides of the same coin, the US political 2 party system
is a pure false-paradigmical sham.

The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy.

14. This is great. I say this over and over: Obama is a Republican.

Finally someone explains what I mean in proper terminology.

Precisely.

Max, your shows are always great. But this was maybe the very best ever.

First time I have heard this view about what Obama did as "community organizer" in Chicago. I have suspected this. He seems to actually have very little experience as a lawyer.

I bet he worked in CRA (Community Redevelopment law).

A lot of idealistic people get into that area but become utterly disillusioned and leave it when they realize that they are really just working for developers. It sounds so great to clean up a neighborhood and put in better housing, and then you realize that some heretofore free-of-charge municipal recreation area is being "redeveloped" for the use of paying customers and the profit of the investors -- and you are the tool being used to "improve" the neighborhood for the wealthier by excluding the poor.

and see all of the neo-cons shaping his foreign and economic policies.
