Both the mainstream media and the Republican Party have been going down the drain for decades. And if you turn on network news or tune into the Sunday morning political pundit shows, you’ve probably noticed that the problems with the media and the GOP are not getting any better. In fact, about the only word you could use to describe both, is “stupid.” Sam Seder discusses the problems that arise from this stupidity with Eric Alterman, Professor of Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and contributing writer for The Nation.

1. The anti-science party,
Just like Bill Maher said about Perry after he had that rain prayer festival. Practicing ancient Mayan traditions to improve one's own life.

2. "David Gregory is not interested in informing. He's interested in putting on a show."
This is why I've rarely seen any segment of Press the Meat since Howdy Doody took over the show.

The show consistently has an all-right wing lineup and occasionally will have a token Democrat (who's often a DINO).

Ever since I saw that video of Gregory dancing with Karl Rove at that WH Press Corps event, he's lost all credibility with me. He's just a RW tool.
