2. Kucinich headlines, but Edwards wins straw poll

" Kathy Callan, of Redding, and her friends drove five hours to support John Edwards in the straw poll. Dressed in a pro-Edwards T-shirt and pin, she hoisted a homemade poster board proclaiming Edwards as "the GREEN candidate."
"Back home, we have people re-registering as Democrats specifically for John Edwards — like my mom, a Republican for 60 years who switched over to being a Democrat because of his working-class policies," said Callan, a former math teacher. "

Believe me, Shasta County, where Callan comes from, is a 'redneck riviera' and voted for Bush. If Edwards is getting support from those folks he's the candidate hands down. Rural America voting overwhelmingly for Edwards would be a HUGE turnaround for the Democratic party.

As much as I support DK's efforts, the more that JE gets the nod, especially with Iowa's caucas coming up, I have to lean Edward's way. Let's hope that DK gets a prominent place -- either influencing JE or becoming a part of JE's campaign (or whomever's).

I'm sorry but I'm just being pragmatic. Thom Hartmann of Air America feels exactly the same way.

3. Vote Dennis Kucinich and No One Else.
The democrats are going to lose in this election if they put the big three against the top GOP. Why you might ask? Simple. Both are essentially saying the same thing, there is not a difference between Democrats and Republicans. Top three can't promise that they will bring the troops home before their first term because it's too "dangerous". The GOP will say they are correct and that they are more fit to do the job. Get it, they are both saying that we should stay there, except that the GOP will try to act tougher than the democrats. Dennis is the only candidate that is saying he will put out ALL troops. He is the only one saying something completely rationale. Diplomacy is what is needed, not war with Iran. Visit his website and be informed. He is electable because he is what this country needs right now.

4. "For the San Francisco County voters, Kucinich came in first!
There were separate results for San Mateo, San Francisco, and Santa Clara Counties, and also a total of the results from all other counties. Kucinich also came in first from the "all other counties" category, while Edwards was first overall and in San Mateo, and Obama first among the Santa Clara County voters present.

Here are the percentages overall (with 761 votes cast):

JOHN EDWARDS-----29.0%
DENNIS KUCINICH-----23.6%
BARACK OBAMA-----22.5%
HILLARY CLINTON-----16.8%
AL GORE (Write-In)-----3.0%
BILL RICHARDSON-----2.8%
JOSEPH BIDEN-----1.0%
CHRISTOPHER DODD-----0.5%
MICHAEL GRAVEL-----0.5%
Other Write-ins-----0.1%

All the figures are at this website.

The votes for this straw poll were hand-counted by volunteers, including me. We counted them all (twice, actually) in 30 minutes, with some teams being done with their share well before that."
