The DEA wants to extradite Marc Emery and two of his employees from Canada to stand trial on pot charges even though Canadian police forces have never thought him worth the bother.
Like the documentary maker says, this is less about pot than it is about sovereignty.

Check out all parts of this movie. It was broadcast on CBC TV last week and deserves a wide audience.

2. We met Michelle Rainey in June

She's one of the so-called "BC3" (British Columbia 3) who the DEA are trying to extradite.

She was angry! She was so pissed at people's apathy. She said she was fighting for our rights, our laws, our sovereignty. She described how, because she was in Toronto and not at home in Vancouver, she only eats at night in her hotel room because the pain of Crohn's disease was debilitating. And if she went to a US prison she would die.

Yeah, this working-class young woman is a real threat to the Great Imperial United States of America. Christ!

The DEA wants Emery so bad that they'll suck in Michelle so Marc will cop a plea.

3. I watched all parts -- well done!

The arrogance of our corporatist-owned government never ceases to astound me.

Emery is a little too eager to be a martyr to his cause, but targeting him is definitely politically driven by the U.S. because he's such a vocal activist and has openly challenged the DEA.

I hope the Canadian court gives a big "fuck you" to the U.S. on this case! I particularly hope that the woman with Crohn disease is removed from the case completely.
