I'm hetero, and I have seen a few, very few gays here get angry when a hetero dares tread on their issues. I don't mean to do so here. it strikes me that Obama is just fine with gay rights. If I have missed something, If I misread the situation, I am more than willing to listen and learn

If his goal is to "teach" people like McClurkin (and those who agree with him) then he needs to actually "teach".

You don't teach by having such views aired publicly without an opposing viewpoint also permitted to speask.

you certainly don't "teach" by using someone like McClurkin as a tacit head nod that such views are okay.

Obama can speak all he likes about how he does not share McClurkin's views that homosexuality is a sin, but his actions speak otherwise when he allows the furtherance of those views.

"I'm sorry I hired Pastor McClurkin to headline my event and I apologize to the LGBT community for his hateful remarks."
