Here is the YouTube video of the blatant attack on Mike Stark after he asked Macaca about why he spit on his wife. There are questions as to why Allen's divorce papers were sealed and the rumors that it has to do with physical abuse.

Mike Stark runs Calling All Wingnuts and gained notoriety by holding up a sign that said Hannity Sucks Ass live on the Hannity and Colmes show which you can see here:

12. I sure hope he sues
Was that a "private" security detail that attacked? Asking "inappropriate" questions does not make someone a danger to the senator; and tackling someone for asking whatever some lame brained no neck brown nosed security guard thinks (if you can call what passes for thinking) is "inappropriate" is worthy of putting those guys in the unemployment line to say the least.

Senator Allen, if your gents attacked me or mine like for an "inappropriate question", then you had better pray the cameras are rolling, because you're going to need it to figure out what parts belong to whom after I'm done.

What a bunch of nasty bullies.

36. This reminds me of Florida in 2000
the paid goons (including Yosemite Bolton) and their OUTRAGE.. When I first heard about this story just now on CNN, I must have heard it wrong because I thought it was Webb supporters attacking an Allen supporter. Thank GOD that's not the case. I agree that the newscasters are pussies. Who cares if Allen is ok? Was his life ever in danger? Is his life that much more valuable than this Mike guys life?

10. When did they get the right to respond to questions with violence?
It is frightening that the reporter was so blase about such violent supression of speech. You'd think the "liberal media" would wonder; who is that man? What question did he ask? Is it a legitimate question? What right do political aids have to assault someone just because he asks a challenging question? What is Allen hiding? Why not answer the question?

Instead we get a business as usual report as it is ordinary for someone to be tackled at a press conference? So sick.

was unhurt - as though the guy asking the question was violent and needed to be subdued. Also, no mention of what the question was, only the suggestion that it was "inappropriate" and was about "Allen's wife." Total bullshit. It was about allegations that Allen abused an ex-wife.

Typical corporate whore spin.

Hiding behind push polls, smears, lies, distortions and surogate hatchetmen to do your dirty work = OK. A constituent asking a question about your divorced wife = NOT OK. BTW, Macaca seems to have a habit of spitting on people.

See Talking Points Memo on this incident. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com

To be honest, the thugs attack of the guy doing the questioning was a lot more brutal than I anticipated it would be. It's a wonder he didn't crack his head on that window.

And what's with the TV anchor bobbleheads assuring us that Allen is all right? No one approached Allen with intent to commit assault and battery. :eyes:

40. Way to adroitly defuse questions of abusive behavior- with abusive behavior.

As for the Korporate New$ Media, they're jus' doin their job. By saying "Allen was unhurt" they convey the message that said question asker was a dangerous, renegade loony, so surely Allen's staff was "justified" in tackling the guy.

Yeah- not to worry, people- the folks driving this tank were "unhurt", too:

74. Little to no chance of any stalking violation...
If Mr. Stark only asked questions a couple of times at public events, as a blogger/journalist, then there is no chance that he could be considered a stalker. And as far as I know, Mike Stark had no contact with Mr. Allen under any other circumstances. Journalists posing questions to politicians at public media events wouldn't be considered stalkers, IMHO.

However, I would imagine that this would be a false line of defense that a Republican Allen supporter might like.

Incident at Allen Campaign Stop in Charlottesville

Senator George Allen, (R) made a campaign stop in Charlottesville Tuesday morning and it was met with controversy.

As Senator Allen was exiting a ballroom, coming to talk to the media, a protestor started yelling and asking, "Why did you spit on your first wife?". He wasn't able to get near the senator as he was tackled by three men wearing Allen stickers, presumed to be staffers. He was pushed and manhandled and ended up on the floor, near windows at the Omni.

The man was ultimately removed from the building. Senator Allen went back into a conference room.

If they are going to start getting violent, then they need to pay the price for it. Maybe after they realize that the price they will pay for such action is going to be far higher than they are willing to pay, they will slither away like the cowards they are.

Let me tell you something, lurking freepers, at least speaking for myself.

You make this physical, and take this to the streets, you are going to get seriously hurt. BADLY.

We have had enough. You've abused us long enough. You've aided and abetted in the destruction of this country and everything that was ever good about it. You are traitors to your country. You are not going to use us as helpless punching bags.

You're going to start paying the fucking check.

You'd better back off and keep your hands to yourselves.

We may be liberals, but if you want to get stupid, you will find many of us will give you a war you won't fare well in, and you may not come back from.

then you will be able to defend yourself, however if you are going to end up in court charged with assault with a lot of goons swearing blind that you threw the first punch - don't be surprised.

It's a tough call, I'll admit. I hope you never end up in that situation.

not just the clip linked in the local news. Showed the guy walk up to try and ask Allen a question. Never got closer than 6-8 feet and was shoved, put in a headlock, and pushed to the ground. didn't ever "fight" with the handlers. Looks like a likely case.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061101/ap_on_el_se/virginia_senate_4

"RICHMOND, Va. - A heckler who confronted Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record) at a campaign appearance Tuesday was put in a chokehold and slammed to the floor by three of the Republican's supporters in an incident captured on video.

Mike Stark, a liberal blogger and first-year University of Virginia law student, approached Allen at an event in Charlottesville, loudly asking, "Why did you spit at your first wife, George?" according to witnesses.

Three men, all wearing blue Allen lapel stickers, immediately grabbed Stark, dragged him backward and slung him to the carpet outside a hotel meeting room, according to video captured by WVIR-TV in Charlottesville. ... "

Letter from Mike Stark
Richmond Times-Dispatch

Oct 31, 2006

The following is a letter to NBC29 from Mike Stark, the man who was tackled for a comment he made at Senator Allen's campaign stop in Charlottesville on Tuesday.

My name is Mike Stark. I am a law student at the University of Virginia, a marine, and a citizen journalist. Earlier today at a public event, I was attempting to ask Senator Allen a question about his sealed divorce record and his arrest in the 1970s, both of which are in the public domain. His people assaulted me, put me in a headlock, and wrestled me to the ground. Video footage is available here, from an NBC affiliate.

I demand that Senator Allen fire the staffers who beat up a constituent attempting to use his constitutional right to petition his government. I also want to know why Senator Allen would want his staffers to assault someone asking questions about matters of public record in the heat of a political campaign. Why are his divorce records sealed? Why was he arrested in the 1970s? And why did his campaign batter me when I asked him about these questions.

George Allen defends his support of the Iraq war by saying that our troops are defending the ideals America stands for. Indeed, he says our troops are defending our very freedom. What kind of country is it when a Senator's constituent is assaulted for asking difficult and uncomfortable questions? What freedoms do we have left? Maybe we need to bring the troops home so that they can fight for freedom at George Allen's campaign events. Demanding accountability should not be an offense worthy of assault.

I will be pressing charges against George Allen and his surrogates later today. George Allen, at any time, could have stopped the fray. All he had to do was say, "This is not how my campaign is run. Take your hands off that man." He could have ignored my questions. Instead he and his thugs chose violence. I spent four years in the Marine Corps. I'll be damned if I'll let my country be taken from me by thugs that are afraid of taking responsibility for themselves.

It just isn't the America I know and love. Somebody needs to take a stand against those that would bully and intimidate their fellow citizens. That stand begins right here, right now.

W. Michael Stark

Democrat Activist Verbally Attacks Allen

Allen Campaign Demands Webb Restrain Out of Control Supporter

ARLINGTON, VA - At the conclusion of a well attended event in Charlottesville, a Webb supporter wearing an Allen sticker aggressively went after Senator Allen, who was at an event with his wife Susan and Senator Elizabeth Dole, screaming that he answer inappropriate questions.

As the Senator was trying to exit the room with a campaign staffer, the Democrat activist, identified as Mike Stark, pushed the Allen staffer. Later, volunteers restrained him and asked to leave the building when he approached the Senator a second time, asking inappropriate questions.

This was not the first time that Stark, a frequent Daily Kos blogger, has aggressively confronted Senator Allen in front of TV cameras and been removed from the premises by event security. In August, Stark was asked to leave a Holiday Inn by management "after he became combative" while interrupting a press conference with Senator Allen. (Chris Graham, "Webb Supporter Asked to Leave Allen Event after N-Word Question," Augusta Free Press; August 25, 2006).

Stark has a history of violent outbursts on the Daily Kos, an extreme left-wing website, such as his post "The F*****g Way...Take These RNC F*****s Down". Daily Kos Link http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/4/12/02847/6131BY

He also posted his intention last night on his blog, Calling All Wingnuts, which is subtitled "Kickin' a*s on the lyin' side: A never-ending battle against stupid, ugly, deceitful and corrupt right-wing water carriers..." in which he wrote in reference to stalking Senator Allen,"So yeah... I miss doing this stuff - it seemed that at least once a month, something would happen that really got the adrenaline flowing... I miss those tasty morsels of victory." 64. Stark was actually being a gentleman about it
he really didn't even fight back, then that older guy jumped in and knocked him against the window. Pretty chickenshit move, especially considering he's jumping a guy being held on to by two others and who is not even struggling. What a man, I hope he's proud.

I tell you what, if that ever happened to me, I doubt I could restrain myself like Stark did. He kept pretty cool about it all.

76. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A JEFFERSONIAN CONSERVATIVE!
Jefferson founded the Democratic Party, he epitomises liberal, Enlightenment principles, he was a luke-warm Deist who abhored the deification of Christ, and he shocked his contemporaries with his drive to end slavery.

There was nothing conservative about him, and for Allen to try to take shelter in the Jefferson Memorial smacks of blasphemy, cynicism, and ignorance.

78. His "drive to end slavery"?
I must have missed that one in my history classes. From what I've been able to find out, even though Jefferson paid "lip service" to the fact that slavery was wrong, he didn't do much about it in practice. He owned 175 slaves at the time he wrote the Declaration of Independence, and later he owned over 200 (may have been closer to 300). He only freed a handful during his life, and a few more when he died.

92. The Young Turks on Air America Has Hired Mike Stark
What this country needs are more journalists willing to ask tough questions. I know one such person - Mike Stark. Mike's questions are so tough, he gets tackled for them. Senator Allen's campaign staff assaulted Mike after he asked them perfectly relevant questions about the Senator's divorce and arrest records.

Senator Allen is a public official - and one who runs on family values. Mike Stark was asking for records that might or might not show whether the Senator lives up to his campaign talk. And I can't imagine a more relevant question than why a Senator won't reveal his arrest record. There are far more questions that the Allen campaign has to answer for, let alone every other campaign, and the entire Bush administration.

In light of the fact that Mike has shown an ability to ask questions others are not willing to ask, for the benefit and education of the public, I am proud to announce that "The Young Turks" on Air America Radio has hired Mike Stark to be a reporter for the show.

I've known Mike for awhile now. He is attending the University of Virginia law school and he is a United States Marine. Once a Marine, Always a Marine. Semper Fi means something to Mike Stark. George Allen ought to look it up (perhaps in his divorce records).

Mike is smart, tough, well educated, dedicated and obviously courageous. This country needs more reporters like Mike Stark. I am proud to be part of an organization that is going to give people like Mike an opportunity to ask more tough questions of our elected officials. The people have a right to know.

And we're not done. We plan to hire more reporters in the future to cover political events around the country for us. If the mainstream press won't ask the questions, then we will.

I only wish we had hired Mike earlier and he could have been in the room to ask the White House about the Downing Street Memos, Jeff Gannon, the weapons of mass destruction, etc., etc. So many questions needed to be asked and weren't. We hope to change that.

97. A word on your viewing privacy...
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 09:31 PM by BushDespiser12
With the consolidation of YouTube and Google... when you watch videos of 9-11 (especially "conspiracy" vids), you might want to monitor through your Windows Task Manager the amount of traffic that ensues within the Networking tab window. I have watched many vids on many different topics, this monitoring/traffic is much higher when exploring "non-conforming" topics (ie. disagreement with official propaganda) on these videos. So give a :hi: to Big Brother

Test my theory: this vid generates minimal traffic. Watch "9/11 Press for Truth - Documentary on the Jersey Girls and the lack of press" below in the video forum. Very different traffic. Would appreciate any comments.. just my computer ... or yours also?

Pretty much verified my thoughts through Scarborough Country (MSNBC) in the feature that just ran. Every... I mean EVERY, single search is recorded and kept on Google databases. The increased traffic I have found during the video play is just recording more info that the Gov't deems as threatening. Flagged information. How depressing.

98. Mike writes: My side
Mike posted this today:
Anyway, I thought I'd share this remarkable link with you. It's remarkable in the sense that I'm not used to media providing uncut and unedited coverage like this. I've been miscast and characterized as a heckler, a protester - the verbiage of my questions has been widely mis-reported... I just think it's great that they've allowed this video to speak for itself. Channel 19, a CBS affiliate in Charlottesville, filmed me watching the video they had of the assault. Afterward, we discussed it. The only edit was a chop of a private phone call I received. It's 11 minutes long...

I've also written what I think is an important piece for the Huffington Post.
