4. I just watched the special edition of Outfoxed a couple of weeks ago
and I wish that clip had been included!

I wonder if BraveNewFilms has done/will do short movie with that gem? If not they should.

3. Supports Clinton as well
Murdoch's publications worldwide tend to adopt conservative views. During the buildup to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, all 175 Murdoch-owned newspapers worldwide editorialized in favor of the war.<17> Murdoch also served on the board of directors of the libertarian Cato Institute. News Corp-owned Fox News is often criticized for a strong conservative and anti-liberal bias.

On May 8, 2006, the Financial Times<5> reported that Murdoch would be hosting a fundraiser for Senator Hillary Clinton's (D-New York) Senate reelection campaign. Murdoch's New York Post newspaper opposed Clinton's Senate run in 2000. morehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rupert_Murdoch

19. The Post also had the "Bush Knew" cover
point being that the Post prints what sells, and it sells to bash Hillary. Murdoch is smart enough that he can "try" to buy off Hillary and still sell papers.

6. Can't change elections" - how modest...in 2000 they moved Florida from Gore's
column - wait, that was NBC. Faux NEVER put Florida in Gore's column...
And yeah, the famous "we tried"

12. I watch Fox News all the time
just to find out how fucking crazy the other side is. Like a while back when they blamed the terrorist attacks on London on socialized medicine.

13. I don't have a problem with Rupert Murdoch and Fox News
I just wish that WE had a news channel that pumped liberalism into people 24 hours a day. Ours wouldn't make up lies, but imagine what we could do if we had an information stream that all they did was talk about how great Democrats were.

17. Life imitates Network.
In the classic political satire Network (a movie full of offensive stereotypes) the basic story line is...

Old newscaster being eased out.
Conglomerate buying media asset, including news department.
Newscaster rants on live TV.
Network fires newscaster.
Newscaster rehired because ratings went up, coins phrase "Mad as hell", ratings surge.
Network reacts badly when newscaster exposes buyout of conglomerate.
Newscaster converted by CEO, spouts the corporate line.
Network keeps newscaster as long as they can even though newscasters ratings are now horrible.

The moral: pumping propaganda at the expense of profits is the way it works for corporations, until the immediate greed resurfaces.

In other words FOX advertisers will keep FOX afloat, even if the ratings are terrible.
