One of the high points of last night's primary coverage was Fred Thompson's speech at the end of the evening. Amid expectations of a major announcement from Fred following his disappointing finish in South Carolina, he came out to make this statement, accompanied here by the reaction of Olbermann, Matthews, and the others in the studio. Enjoy.

3. I actually think this was kind-of clever, if a little desperate.
A lot of people have forgotten about him; this might get him some attention.

5. I wonder where Fred gets his numbers.
Russia lost about 24,000,000 people in World War 2.....and as I recall, they were on the "right" side of that one.

He maybe forgot that part.. or that in the WW2, combined, 50.000.000 people died, and for the most part, NOT AMERICAN CIVILIAN.. I guess the pipe have had another tone if lets say 20.000.000 american had been killed by the nazis between 1940 and 1945.. Maybe US even had learned the hard way, that using military force are not allays the best option when it come up..
In Europe we lost 40.000.000 in all... And the content was ravages so that the industry, and all the other part of a modern world have to be rebuild, and the most of the money that we owed was to US, and that many country was paying back the "free" Marshall plan for more than 50 year.. Norway was one of the country who was free from debt in 1993, after paying back our share of the marshall plan from 1946... But hey, US won the WW2 singlehandedly, no brits, no free france, no allied forces was needed to fight the nazi regime of Adolf Hitler:sarcasm:

And of course, 24.000.000 russian was not killed, and the most of the industrial base in europe was not bombed to the stone age... Leningrad and Stalingrad was never bombed so they have to rebuild the whole thing after WW2... Even that the historical Senter of St Peterburg was pretty wel rebouilded.. It tok just 50 year to build it up again.. And Stalingrad was rebuild from the down up, the whole City was destroyed.. Just a statue group of young girls and playing children survived the war, mor or less intact.. Somewhat in the hell house Stalingrad was, the group survived and was intact when the red army was in control again

So long this happened, the revisionist type of history Will survive, in US at least for a long time...

8. Most Americans forget about Russia.
They single-handedly fought on Hitler's Eastern Front, while it took a whole slew of Allies to deal with the Western Front.

Saddest thing I've ever seen about war was the Leningrad Siege Memorial and the rations and the pictures of the frozen dead in the streets. Horrifying.

7. ...apropos of nothing.
Poor Fred. What will he do now that he's out of the race and the writers are on strike?

"What the hell..." LOL!
