Here is the incredibly interesting article that inspired this video: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2131974,00.html

The excesses of the hyper rich in America are truly astounding, aren't they? I do have to say, this video clip left out some of the best commentary on the issue. Cenk had an "ok, so what do we do about it" portion where he talked about corporate taxes and restoring balance, etc. that I think should've been included here.

PS---If you enjoy this and are tired of the corporate mainstream media election coverage, why are you watching (and therefore supporting) it?

Support progressive media and watch the BraveNewFilms/TYT election coverage instead. They have fun and informative progressive hosts with tons of great guests (Sam Seder was on for the Iowa coverage just to name one of many examples) and up to the minute updates on the polls.

If you watch at www.BraveNewFilms.org/election there is also a great live chat and live polling (i.e. instant polling of everyone watching the coverage). At the *very* least, you can have the TV on (if you insist) and do the live chat at your PC.

Here is the partial guest list for the South Carolina coverage (more guests and hosts will be added over the next couple of days!):

2. It makes me sick to my stomach
To think of all the people that can be fed, clothed, housed and cared for ...but COMPASSION is a word that these people don't understand.

At least there is some consolation, religiously speaking, these guys are screwed, eh?

3. ...and what pisses me off even more
is that there are new TV shows that glamorize the lifstyle...have you seen "Top this Party" or that Sweet Sixteen show on MTV...?

argh! I just want to put these people in a room, that WHOLE 1%, and force them to listen to an endless parade of people like me who work our ASSES off and still can't get ANYWHERE because the government and society and people like them have collectively thrown us under the bus of Life...

and it may not make a difference, untl I break out the duct tape! }( lol }(

I am not whining that my life is so bad, just tired of always living the never ending struggle of how to rob peter to pay paul and still get food on the table for my kids. AND I am so grateful that we have a homne to live in, beds to sleep on, I know it could be worse, but does it have to be so HARD?

can you tell this has been a hard month on us money-wise? a LITTLE bit of a hair trigger? ummm ya:eyes:

5. I agree
about the tv shows. And "Sweet Sixteen" is the perfect example!

Spoiled brats brought to a whole new level.

4. As a secularist
no, sadly, I don't believe these guys are screwed. But they ARE doing part of the screwing of the poor and middle class.

I need to re-read this book, The Trap. It does a great job of laying out what's changed since the 60's (that led to our current economic situation). Here's a review by Thom Hartmann:
