5. Obama Will Have To Dredge Up Something
That wasn't used before. True originals are more difficult to hijack.

7. May I say how much I admire you Obama supporters for
the way you continue to make fools of yourselves over Hillary Clinton's use of the Si se puede! slogan?

But first a little history: back when us Boomers you despise so much were, like, all young and juicy, a man named Cesar Chavez organized the United Farm Workers "to promote fair wages, medical coverage, pension benefits and adequate living conditions for workers."

The UFW subscribed to the principles of non-violence practiced by Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Strikers took pledges of non-violence. After Chavez conducted a 25-day fast in 1968 to reaffirm the UFW's commitment to non-violence, the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy called Chavez "one of the heroic figures of our time," and flew to Delano to be with him when he ended the fast.

Sr. Chavez was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Bill Clinton in 1994.

This year, the United Farm Workers have endorsed Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for President, as have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cesar L. Chavez, grandson of Cesar Chavez, and UFW legend Dolores Huerta regularly campaigns with Hillary Clinton.

Thank you.

14. Didn't Obama "borrow" that pithy slogan from Gov. Patrick
of Mass.?

I think I heard it during my high school football games, too, so it is probably not trademarked.

17. The original version is the Spanish "Si se puede"
As another member said earlier.

Neither the Obama nor the Clinton campaign own this slogan.
