3. Thanks, also see Stephen Kinzer with Amy Goodman
Starts at the 16 minute mark, although important points are made at the 33 minute plus mark re the issue of nationalization in general and the consortium of oil companies that prevailed after the coup.

IMO we should make the connections between what happened in Iran with the oil companies and the control of resources in Iran and what is happening now in Iraq with the push towards privatization.

Also the issue of immunity for Americans in Iran, the Iranian-American Status of Forces Agreement mentioned by James A. Bill in his book "The Eagle and the Lion" mirrors the issue of immunity in Iraq.

The people of Iran and Iraq know what happened, too many in the U.S. do not.

With excerpts from the film “Life of Dr. Mossadegh” produced by Brian Lapping and Grenada Television which looks to be made in 1985 and starts at the 44 minute mark in the above link or a smaller clip in the below link.

US and UK screw up Iran in the 1950s.. Destroyed a Democracy in its infancy, and made the possible by not accepting that Iran are an independent nation, and who have its rights to get a man like Ayatollah, Khomeini, and a regime as that who are in place in Iran today..

And the same thing is happening in Iraq today. You screw one regime, replaced it with a more "friendly" fellow, and in a few years time US screw the little goodwill US have by acting more or less as Genghis Khan in the 1200s... But you do have hounder es of thousands of regular and mercenaries in Iraq, and it Will be a hard time for Iraq to be independent again.. Maybe after the oil is up of the sand and Iraq have not something that the oil-needing US want...

Have this administration not a clue how to read history. OR do they just don't give a dam about history...?.. Every way you se it, Iraq are going the same way as Iran was, even with 160.000 american soldiers on the ground.. And US can't kill 24.000.000 million people either... To quell the opp-raising?

5. For the complete story...
"All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror" by Stephen Kinzer is an excellent read. The video was an ok overview of what happened but Kinzer goes back to the Ottoman Empire for background and brings his readers up to speed where the mess began in 1921 to the US overthrowing the Iranian PM in 1953, then takes the reader to 1979 and then to 9/11/2001.

He also co-authored a book concerning the overthrow of the democratically elected president of Guatemala in 1954. Both actions occurred in the Eisenhower administration with the help of the Dulles brothers.
