7. Responsibility = ability to respond.
If Naderites want to game the definition of responsibility to hold their guy blameless, reality still has a way of imposing it's own concept regardless.

13. I think the Dems should be more concerned with how tens of thousands
of voters in Florida were illegally disenfranchised in 2000 (among other "irregularities") than with Nader's role in the election.

That must be the single most delicious bit of irony I've seen in weeks.

Nicely done. Put that on YouTube -- I definitely would laugh out loud.

17. It doesn't matter what I think.
It matters what someone's actions produce, and that is all. Like I said, if anyone tries to game the definition of responsibility, it doesn't matter.

And, since when was political satire "fascism?" This man was saying we have 25 years left in existence, all the while he's helping Bush? Who are the fascists HERE

19. Someone's got to be part of an opposition party...
The Clintonistas in the Democrats sure aren't doing it. I prefer a multi-party state, as opposed to the single-party incarnation we have now.

In 2000, Nader was the only one attempting to force the "mainstream" party into confronting real issues.

I share your desire to have anyone but Bush and his gang of corporate thugs controlling White House, but anger against Nader is misguided. I would have preferred Gore to Bush, no doubt. The corporate elite wouldn't allow it to happen under any circumstances, though.

48. It is true that he did take money from Republicans in '04.
Good point. What I mean by opposition is that the Greens are an alternative to the Washington establishment, which is embodied by both the Democrats and Republicans. They are much more similar than different. Both are very much beholden to corporate interests to the detriment of a majority of the population. I don't believe Lieberman and Biden are really that much different than John McCain and Bill Frist.

50. I don't think they are an "alternative."
And, if you check the voting records of Biden and Lieberman you will see that they are drastically different than Frist and/or McCain.

Interest group ratings are a good place to start. Just enter the last name on the left of the link and you will see the differences, even between so called "moderates" in the two parties.

28. Nader forced people to vote for Bush rather than Gore?
There is no logic in that whatsoever.

Blame Katherine Harris purging voter rolls in Florida. Blame people who voted for Bush. Blame the Supreme Court. Blame Bush.

You can't blame Nader.

If you oppose elections with more than 2 candidates that is your choice, but in this nation, i think most people, even today, support democracy and open elections.

Seems about right -- Greens are at least trying to talk to people and coming up with new ideas and Dems are perfectly happy talking to Republicans and using their talking points...'dooga dooga dooga...support the President...dooga dooga dooga...war on terror...dooga dooga dooga...Another Bush appointment confirmed 95-2...dooga dooga dooga'

Did an actual Dem make this? Seems so stupid, one would think it's a smear AGAINST democrats.

49. Infuruating how the left eats its own here
Maybe if the Democrats actually represented all of us and stopped the centrist pandering Nader would be a non-issue.

I am down for the Dems and all, but Dems and Greens should work together, sorry but this is stupid, Nader may be a jerk but the Greens platform has very valid points the Democratic Party should take seriously if we are ever going to be a "Big Tent" (and by big tent I don't mean just pandering to righties!)

So many people I talk to hate politics becasue they see bot hparties as the same, and there is truth in that in some ways. Please do not take this as being anti-Democratic but it is my humble opinion.

52. Even if you do believe Nader caused Bush to win or what not
wouldn't it be better to try use logic and reason to persuad someone instead of act like an idiot? I'm sorry, but if you're that concerned about Nader's effect on the election the logical thing to do would be try to convince people why they should vote for Kerry/Gore whomever you are promoting, instead of going "dooga dooga doooga." It might have more of an effect.
