Abrams' continuing series Bush League Justice. In this edition he reports on Steven Bradbury who Bush has nominated to be Assistant Attorney General. Bradbury authored two secret memos authorizing the CIA to use torture techniques, advocated for the revoking of habeas corpus for terrorism detainees, and authored the opinion immunizing Harriet Miers from testifying in the US Attorney investigation. Now Bush is holding up the appointment of 84 judges to get this one guy through. Bush is shutting down areas of government to get one conservative judge through. Jonathan Turley weighs in and says Bush trying to create a legacy and has been successful in getting Democrats to help him with that legacy, and any problems he may have done, and any crimes he may have committed the Senate is a party to it. Turley also talks about how Bush has appointed 30% of the judiciary we have now and that someone like Alito is blindly pro-govermnent and that is already the legacy we're stuck with from Bush.
