Subject: Winner -- Donut Hole Video Contest
When our nodonuthole.com video contest came to a close last week, the "community favorite" and winner was "So, I Married a Donut-Hole Murderer", submitted by YouTube member Lasita9. You can see this winning video and the other crowd favorites at nodonuthole.com.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who participated in the contest. Your time and creativity have exposed thousands more to the dangers of the Part D "donut hole", and built momentum for our campaign to eliminate it.
Together, the contest videos have been viewed over 17,000 times. Combined with the more than 40 No Donut Hole events we helped host across the country with our coalition partners at Americans United, we have generated over 25,000 petition signatures to Congress--pressing lawmakers to eliminate the donut hole and allow Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices.
The donut hole will continue to be a crucial election year issue. Voters get angry when they learn that conservatives created the hole to line the pockets of big pharmaceutical companies, that millions of seniors will fall into the hole this year, and that many seniors who fall into the donut hole won't get the prescriptions they need--simply because they can't afford them.
By supporting this campaign, you're calling to account the Congressional backers of the Part D disaster. You're helping build the pressure needed to push them to get rid of the donut hole, and keep prescriptions affordable for all American seniors.
Our petition to eliminate the donut hole will remain up and running at nodonuthole.com to and through the November elections. We will keep fighting until the donut hole is gone. If you haven't signed our petition yet, please visit nodonuthole.com and do so today. If you have signed it, thank you so much for weighing in. Please forward this email to friends and neighbors to urge them to sign on as well.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Ian Mishalove, Director Online Communications
